titty bars. Chicago is far and away the most prudish major city in America.  PATHETIC

You pay a high price for the hobby in Chicago. Not to mention the humiliation of your photo on the web but you can loose you car even before you are convicted. Someone  please tell me how this is due process.

Being a Chicagoan it is hard to enjoy the hobby because of this situation and I'm glad that you brought it up. Visiting escorts should understand that this is a policy within the downtown area and not in the suburbs. The easiest way for escorts and clients to avoid these tactics is to avoid the downtown area, unless seeing someone you are familiar with.
The suburbs provide a much better option for most.

Before you start putting a scare into people for no reason and drive quality ladies away from the Windy city, this should be put in context.  Daley's move to publish these photos does not make it any more risky for fine ladies to come to Chicago and/or work downtown.

Look at the web site of those who got nabbed (a real motley crue I might add!) and see if you notice a trend.  All the pictures are guys, so what does that tell you? It indicates that female LE are posing as SW's and hauling in their nightly quota of johns.

The reason these stings are downtown is because there aren't too many johns cruising around suburbia looking for an SW. Naturally the johns come downtown looking for the SW action, hence your downtown SW stings.

We all know that CPD does go after the internet girls now and then, but when they do it is usually the girls that don't screen properly (or at all) that get nabbed. A quality lady that screens and takes the proper safety measures is at no more risk in Chicago than she is in most other cities in the US.  Nor is she more at risk downtown than she is by the airport or in the burbs.

PeterPickle,

Way to go! This is a sound response.

I looked at the web page and your right, these guys were chasing SW. Also, this could be a case of racial profiling. 6 of the 164 arrested in the last 30 days were Caucasian American males. The rest were either Latino, African American or immigrant.

Looks like the Chicago PD is looking to arrest the low hanging fruit. In other words, those that can afford good legal council.

I agree that it is mainly guys getting pinched, but the out of town providers don't seem to have gotten the word. It is basically incall stings that are nailing clients and not providers. But my point was if a lady refuses to come to the city...why should the outlying areas also be excluded? Hell even you can come out to the burbs if need be to see a specific lady. It really is a sting to humiliate the clients though...that's what it is. The providers who have toured here in the past and screen well should feel just as confident in coming here as they always did. Downtown or suburbs.

They have the same thing in St Paul, MN.  I live in a suburb.  So, I don't have to worry so much.

I check out the site every once in a while.  Most of the 'Johns' look like total greaseballs.  Every once in a while, you see a clean cut guy.  I just imagine that being me.

The article mentioned the fact that K.C. once had "John TV", a program on its local cable TV access channel.  It posted photos of those individuals arrested for solicitation, but before they were formally convicted.  The program here primarily focused on those who were soliciting streetwalkers.

I agree that this is not a fair practice when the photos are made public before the individuals have their day in court.  It's just the matter of whether the individual wants to put himself more in the spotlight by fighting its legality.

Anybody who goes into a public place is subject to public scrutiny.  A great example is the London fuckhead terrorists.  Thanks to the cameras, most have been arrested.

Due process does not come into this at all.  Once you have been charged, the information relative to the arrest is public.  Any citizen may publish any of this info.

Solicitation is a crime in most jurisdictions.  Deal with it.  If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

If you want to whine and rant and vent about the unfairness of it all, that's one thing.  If you want to discuss constitutional protections, be sure of your assertions.

Finally, do not tell me that the hobby is a victimless crime.

The ladies?  Not of prostitution in and of itself, though possibly of violence and the like from certain clients or pimps.

The men?  Certainly not!  There may be the random victim of robbery or such, that would not make them a victim of prostitution but of a robbery.

Their partners, assuming they have?  They are victims of infidelity, not of prostitution.

Who are the victims in your mind?

I'm curious - did the article mention which side of the River this occured in KC (IOW, was it in Missouri or Kansas)?
