She reached out and said that unexpectedly she would be available when I thought she'd be gone and asked if I wanted to see her. I had canceled our appt for this past weekend because of a family issue and was out of town. I had put deposit down for it.I knew I'd be out of that if I canceled but when she reached out and said she was unexpectedly still in town and could see me if I wanted and I said I did but then she asked me to make another deposit. I didn't respond yet but I just assumed that she'd use my previous deposit towards this rescheduling? Was I wrong to assume and should I ask her about it? If I have to make another deposit I don't want to go through with iit but I don't wanna to come across badly by saying I don't wan at to see her because I have to make another deposit. Perhaps I should have known a new deposit would be required?

I have an appt scheduled for this weekend with a provider that I have seen twice before. This is someone who travels and I see them when they come to my city. They had a trip planned to my area before I even booked so its not like they were coming here just for me or anything like that. I just found out today that something has come up (family issue) that will require me to cancel as I will have to be out of town for the weekend. Appt was scheduled for Friday, so is two days enough time that a provider will be understanding? I'd like to be able to see this provider whenever they return to my town again. Also, this person requires a deposit that I already paid...does that deposit cover the possibility of a cancellation? Thanks.

You will almost certainly be out the deposit, but I am sure that's what you agreed to in the first place. The thing you need to do now if you care to see her at some other time is to notify her as soon as possible so as to give her the best chance to fill that time slot.

I wouldn't be too worried about her being mad, with enough notice she will not only get your time slot filled, but she'll get to keep your deposit to boot. Win Win for her.

Oh of course I know I am out of the deposit and I fully understand that and have no problem with it. Thanks for the feedback. Just sent an email to her.

I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you give her a decent amount of notice.  Just as another person saud, "life happens" it's also good that you've seen her before.

D

she probably won't be too upset.  I agree with other posts, be honest, rebook her in the future, forget about the deposit.  I also have never given a deposit, and never will.

...would say: "I re-booked your time (or hotel room) so you will get your deposit back."  You're more likely to see a unicorn before that happens.

Haha. One can only imagine. But a lot of girls have a time frame where the deposit will be returned. I wouldn't keep the deposit if I rebooked the time; that defeats the purpose. I would, however, try to encourage him to use it toward a future appointment :)

Stuff happens.   Providers cancel and reschedule appointments all of the time. Since this is someone you have seen before I think she would understand. The most important thing is to let her know as soon as possible and then take really really good care of her the next time you see it.  She will appreciate the jest ire on your part. The really professional ladies will understand. Good Luck.
