I require references be no more than a year old, preferably six months or less. The provider (I ask for two in case one can't be gotten ahold of) must have a website and web presence (no reviews would give me pause but I might accept screening sites such as p411 on a case by case basis).  I must be able to find out what her screening process is like and that she takes it as seriously as I do. If the providers that you have seen are reluctant to give references I don't think you will be able to use them, references only work if the lady responds in the affirmative that she saw you and you treated her respectfully. In that case I would have to screen you as a newbie. I recommend if you want to see providers who are reference only you find a provider you also want to see who accepts newbies and go through whatever her screening process entails.

I understand your privacy is important to you, but any professional provider knows that and if you are willing to see her you should be willing to trust her with the information she needs to trust you. The risk we take to our safety by seeing new clients, references or not, are far greater than the risk you assume by seeing a provider. It is imperative to me that the gentlemen who wish to spend time with me understand that and do what I request to make me feel safe, secure, and comfortable (which in turn will ensure I'm in the mindset to have a wonderful time with you during our session :D). Best of luck to you!

REFERENCES!
I am a very experienced senior hobbyist.   I have been a client of some high quality providers.   However, NONE of them are active TER or any review sites.   As I try to introduce myself to some of the higher quality providers on this site, most require "References"; one provider, with highly positive reviews, even asked for 'Two references, NO EXCEPTIONS",   I can't get them.

One of my current providers even appeared to become jealous when I asked her to be a reference for me,   Such request also  invades privacy because she really does not want to post on a site.

I hobby only once or twice per month; but, would love the option to try some of the TER providers who have high quality reviews and reside in the geographical areas that I visit.

 Thanks for any helpful comments.

Even tho' you're a self-described senior, your kind of a junior (newbie) in this area.  Yours is a Q that might be better moved to the newbie board.

There are verification sites that many of the ladies here are willing to accept either in place of references or as a partial replacement for references.

Search for date-check.com (aka DC) and preferred411.com (aka P411).  And there a couple of others.  If you have Qs -- and I hope that you will have Qs! -- ask them on the newbie board and we'll be happy to help.

See you later

P411 allows the providers that have profiles there to indicate if they are newbie-friendly.  Gina and her staff will work with you to get you verified.  All you have to do then is search in your locality for those providers who say they are newbie friendly.

If you have not read the self help center, now might be a good time.

My opinion on this will cause some to pause as I have experienced the same as you.  I have VIP ladies that also do not want to share and consider this a nuisance.  This requirement is imposed in large part since it is allowed to occur by hobbyists.  If more hobbyists would not accept this as a pre-condition for a meeting, over time things would change, trust me.  Each side here has valid reasons (privacy and safety being the two most valid) for but if behavior would change  so would, in some cases, these policies.  I have seen some providers only offer references for 30 days, which is very odd and not helpful for "occasional newbie hobbyist" to build a reference list at all.

I will also say that many providers do offer ways of working around the reference requirements, so my advice would be to work directly with the ladies, if there is no exception it actually might be a telltale sign that an actual booking may not pan out as well as one would like

Speaking from personal experience, and still a newbie myself really, I will say that I have seen guys without references.  There is no hard and fast rule, but it generally involves lots of communication before meeting.  Basically, for me it's important to feel safe, and I've found in my limited experience that the guys who turn out to be crazy generally don't spend a lot of time writing emails.  Also, I don't think LE would invest a lot of time that way either.

So, my advice would be to find newbie-friendly providers (even though you're not a newbie) who you can see, and then use them as a reference.  I would ask them up front whether they're willing to be a reference too.  Some girls are so busy that they don't have the time to respond to reference requests.

I completely agree with EmmaBlairDC. I have also seen clients with no references. There are are other options to become verified without requiring a provider's ref. There are sites like date-check, VerifyHim, P411 and many others. Even being on LinkedIn can work as a ref.

Good Luck,
