TER can be a complicated place but if you study that link you'll do fine.

Come back and ask any questions you might have.

Welcome to TER

So, I'm in San Diego, and have been active on a local site as a provider for a few years, and my friends there said I needed to get on TER. I'm unfamiliar with this so far, but am more than willing to get to know you all and meet some new friends. I wanted to put up an ad, because I'm available tonight, but I really don't know what I'm doing yet on here. However, you are more than welcome to check out my website and give me TER pointers if you want to!

As mrfisher said, look for the Self-Help Center under the life preserver.

However, you have to be on the "home" page to see it.  Go to the bottom of this thread and click on "Back to Forum" to get back to the home page of the newbie board.

Read your local board to get a feel for who are the friendlier and more helpful posters.  Check out the "San Diego Ad board" for the general format of the ads ... but learn the rules before posting.  (One ad per 7 days, etc.).

If you can't figure out how to post a pic, come back for help.

Good luck.

Attach link for your website.
If one of these friends you refer to is TER ask for a review to get you started.
If these friends are providers ask if they would refer an occasional friend to you that is TER to help you get started.
While only seeing well reviewed providers would see someone without reviews base on recommendation of a trusted provider
