You'll start to notice that we all have different ways we like to screen. The two forms of ID thing is a fairly common method, particularly sans references. Have fun!

Hi there - total newbie here. No provider references and I work from home so I don't have a separate work email/number that I can use for verification purposes. One of the lovely providers I've been communicating with suggested sending a photo of my drivers license along with another photo of myself to prove that my name and I are a match. I hadn't heard of that before but it seems pretty harmless, assuming all other info on the ID is blacked out. Has anyone used this verification method before and does it sound iffy?

I'm sure there are plenty of providers that will request that.  It should not be a problem as long as any personal data that she has no need to see is blacked out in some manner.

As Tobi said... It's not uncommon, however....

You need to ask yourself what do you have to lose if your picture becomes public? Is the gal you're conversing with trustworthy? Most of them are, but there are bad apples on both sides that make verification necessary. It is up to you to decide how much personal info you are willing to divulge to make the other side feel safe.

The best way, IMHO, is to join a verification site like P411. Use it and TER to research ladies and set up your dates.  Most of the ladies accept this, especially once you get a few "okays" under your belt. This way, you only provide your personal info to a third party, who can verify you without using your photo. In my experience this is the safest method for both sides and provides the most discretion.

There are several ladies who require your real name and may require you to show ID when you meet. But at least you aren't sending a picture that may be used to blackmail you.  It's up to you to decide if you trust these ladies enough to give up your real name.  There are some of us who don't care and do, but there are a lot more of us that could lose a lot and don't... and don't need to because the majority of ladies accept P411 or TER whitelists.

Most, (most), reputable providers will be happy with a verification service like P411. Sending pictures via email is risky. Some may require you to show id that matches your P411 data when you show, but I would not send it ahead of time if you have p411 profile.
