There's a saying, you must learn to walk first before you can run. lol

What kind of information would you be willing to provide without putting yourself at risk?

When I first started out, I read the self-help center, local and general boards for a few days. I paid TER membership and was very fortunate to meet up a terrific well-reviewed girl who did the screening painlessly and most of all, sincerely willing to give out reference quickly at anytime. A 2-hr date may have something to do with that too. lol

That said, for simplicity and efficiency, P411 is it! Most of my dates from P411 are 12 hrs notice or less.

As anything, there's a big draw back with P411. Your ATM can drain f'king fast if you have many uncontrollable stresses. lol

There seems to be a classic Catch-22 re: References.  I'm interested in quality providers.  I contact one, and she says....references required.  I have none cuz....I'M A NEWBIE.  I can't get one because - the quality providers all require a reference first.  Certainly you guys secured a first reference at some point.  What is the secret?

Lately, I've met several newbies.  Most have made certain erroneous assumptions regarding providers.  Not necessarily me specifically, but in general.
So I'd like to dispel a few more common ones.   :-)

1.  Providers all know each other.
~Even among ladies advertising on the same sites, in the same categories, posting here on TER or on other sites, most of us have not met most of the other ladies.

2. We are "hooked up" with local LE, politicians, or even just hotel managers to keep us safe.
~This is actually rare.  The vast majority of us have absolutely no such insurance or safety net.

3. Providers know where to buy drugs, illegal weapons, have bookies, etc.
~Being an adult service provider, escort, hooker, or whatever-you-wanna-call-it has not granted me a magical decoder ring or secret handshake to gain entree to other "gray area" activities or businesses.

4. All ladies have deadbeat boyfriends and/or pimps.
~While some ladies do have significant others who are nothing more than leeches, it's not the majority.  And personally, I saw higher percentages of this among strippers than providers.  As to pimps?  As far as I know, no provider I've ever met has had one so I have no idea how common this may be.

5. The frequency of a ladies' reviews, her rates, hours, or anything else can be used as a reliable barometer to determine how "busy" a lady is or isn't.
~Some ladies get a higher percentage of guests writing reviews than others, for various reasons.  Some higher-than-average priced ladies will book as many as they can in a day, and some bargain-basement-betties have their own very strict limits.  You just never know.

These are the ones which I've encountered lately.  There are, of course, lots more.
Please feel free to add to this "myth-busting" or to ask about any of your own assumptions, notions, or conclusions.

Always happy to give advice from my side of the hotel-room-door!  ;-)

I think the biggest myth is that gals make well over $100,000 a year tax free.

Given all the expenses involved with successfully being in this business, I doubt it is even half of that, and many gals are very careful to pay their taxes less that get busted and exposed to a major felony for non-payment of same

is that all escort were seriously abused as children and that no sane person would ever consider this line of work.

Just this AM my local paper has a feature article spewing this tripe

I've yet to meet a single lady who falls into this category.  The vast majority of the ladies I've seen have been college students who elected this route simply because they didn't want a huge student loan to contend with after they finished.

Said this before and I'll say it again.  While it's not a lock for you to get a provider date, it's safer to give your personal info to one site than a number of providers.  Preferred411 has an 800 number you can call.  Gina and her staff will work with you to get you verified.  P411 also allows their providers to indicate on their profile if they are newbie friendly.  Look for those ladies.
Read ads carefully, sometimes providers will say newbie friendly in ads.

Well most providers I've seen post on the ad boards have various screening options so if you don't have references, they go to the work verification route. If you are a newbie and aren't willing to give some kind of personal info that is a whole different issue you have to work out. Keep in mind safety is the top priority, and rightly so. My suggested first steps: Sign up for p411, find yourself a newbie friendly girl on there, and if all goes well she can give you an OK or reference and now you have your first one. It only gets easier from there.

OK, approved by P411 and have my first newbie friendly hottie tomorrow.  Thanx again for the clue bus ticket.  ;)

Wait.  I thought providers were like Costco.  One stop shopping.  I thought with every provider I could have a role in the hay, buy a bunch of coke, several MP5's, have someone load it all in my car, and have a dirty cop make sure nothing happened.

LOL - as a newbie I may say something stupid or have sent an extra email or three.  But I guess I am Einstein compared to some other people.

Hi Debbie -

I am a newbie and replied to an ad for Tantric Massage  for $XXX.  In emailing arrangements, I found TER reviews of her offering full service.  Her webiste offers the same time for $XXX + 20% (assuming that is for full service).  I would like full service, but I don't know now how to go about asking.  Do I increase the amount in the envelope and assume she will know what I want?  Will she think it is a tip and give a really nice massage?  Do I ask in the middle of the massage and settle up afterward?  How do I communcate this without blowing it?
