This hobby certainly isn't for those who are risk opposed....

....virtually everything about this hobby is a risk, including passing along some nasties. My sessions are virtually all oral, and neither I nor any provider that I have visited with  has ever brought along (or even mentioned) a dental dam. Risky? Yeah....probably less than many other sex acts, but risky none the less. Even DFK poses risks.

If you are very concerned but still want to partake, just wrap or cover everything at all times and maybe pass on any kissing.
That's definitely not a happy solution for everyone, but it is probably the safest way to imbibe and minimize STD risks.

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to the hobby and just signed up for this site.  I've been looking into the GFE world rather than traditional providers, but that's brought up a new set of questions for me...

Based off reviews here, it seems that many women are totally up for bbbj, DATY, etc.  I'm all for kissing and touching, but didn't we all learn in school that you can get all kinds of funky shit that you don't want (or want to explain to your wife) from just oral sex?

Was I lied to as a child—and it's really way harder to get STDs from oral sex than we were told? Or is this just a risk people are willing to take?

I don't want to hold back, but I also want to play it safe... Any guidance??

People do pass STD's in this world. As to the extent of the risk, I would check out the CDC website as I wouldn't get that info from a fk board.

You need to determine your own risk assessment. But there is risk in everything we do with a corresponding up side to that risk.

Only you can determine if the risk/reward is worth it.

There is plenty of clinical evidence that oral sex is safe sex. Nothing is 100% certain but the only completely safe sex would be no sex at all.

Clinical practice -not speculation
From Med-Help

Nothing is perfectly safe but based on  doctors involved in clinical practice your chances in getting a serious disease from oral sex are remote. There is NO evidence that you can get HIV.

Oral sex can usually be considered safe sex. There is a low risk for all STDs and virtually zero risk for some of them.  This has been discussed previously; please read the questions and replies in the threads linked below.
