While GaG is correct of course, there are a couple of things you can check.

Did you mention or link to any other hobby website? While some are allowed, many are not, mainly any with reviews, but some non review sites are not allowed either. Did you mention or link to a delisted member? Did you mention any real names or link to some website or news article that mentions real names? These are common things that are not allowed on TER posts. As GAG said it is a trial and error thing to figure out which word or phrase was not allowed, but the things I mentioned are a good place to start your trial and error.

And the reason is that certain words and phrases etc were not allowed, how do I find out witch specific words and phrases were not allowed so I can edit and repost?

Sometimes all you can do is edit your post using the trial and error method until Admin approves your post.

I wish I had a better answer, but that's all I've got.

...include a copy of your post and ask admin which words & phrases are not allowed.

I'm assuming you haven't already done that. If you have do it again and ask them to be more specific. Somtimes you have to go back and forth with them to find anything out.

(especially if the poster first checks the things I mentioned) since admin usually takes several to many hours (and sometimes days) to respond to "contact us" feedback.

If you're posting about something in the news, you can't mention a personal name in a potentially embarrassing context (even though it's stated in the news story).  "Police arrested someone for solicitation. She posted ads under the name [Provider Name allowed] but her real name is [real name from the article - NOT ALLOWED].  She was arrested with the Mayor of Hobbytown [real name NOT ALLOWED]."  I think you can post the link to the article or story ("Arrest in Hobbytown.  Hobbytown News, date, page." link) but you can't post the real names.

Celebs are different: you can post their names in legit circumstances

And actually you are incorrect about links. You can't post the link to the news story if the news story has real names.

I seem to recall TER pulling posts about the antics of a former NY governor after he was named in some inter-state call girl scheme.

Though I can think of a few cases of celebs being named here and there, so TER's enforcement is a bit spotty on that point

Probably depends which admin is reading the post. I recall a sports figure last year being busted in a sting, and threads popped up on various regional boards as well as the general board. Some were removed, some were edited where the story was allowed but no name and no link, and some posts that outed the name were left up.

The one hard and fast rule that I can give you is that it is verboten to "out" or post the personal information of any "TER member"  If you recall a certain female athlete who was providing out of LV was outed some time back. That one is an easy call, Those posts NEVER should have seen the light of day.

Now sometimes the rules are anywhere  near so clear, like in the case of Tiger Woods who is most definitely a celebrity in the public eye, but if any of the women involved had been reviewed on TER that would have changed things completely.

Are you starting to see why this area seems to be as inconsistent as it does

Those things can be tough to police. As for certain things not even seeing the light of day that is a good thought, but as a former moderater you know that is only possible for moderated members. Any unmoderated member can post what they want and it will see the light of day. It was a matter of how long it stayed up before being pulled.

Of course I remember the Las Vegas lady also. I actually received a lot of free VIP days for reporting some of those posts. Seems like threads were going up on every board as fast as they could pull them down.

As far as outing TER members, how do we know Elliot Spitzer, or Tiger Woods, etc. were not TER members? If the rule is no TER member's personal info, then no personal info should be allowed, celebrity or not, since we don't know who is a TER member. I actually used that argument with TER admin last year regarding the sports figure I mentioned earlier in my other post. As I said in the earlier posts some threads were removed, some were left up but the news links and name were edited out, and some stayed up. I started using RAP on the posts that had mentioned the name or had links, and I first got a reply that it can stay because he is a celebrity. I wrote back saying that it is against the rules to out persobal bames of TER members and Do you know for certain he is not a TER member? They replied. You're right. Thread removed +2. Lo

and since there is not one single moderator making all of these decisions, what you get will seem quite inconsistent. It's always been that way and most likely always will.

I have pulled posts like those you mention only to find the very same post on a regional board with a different mod who was either asleep at the wheel or whose interpretation of the rules was different than mine. This still seems to be the case today.

I mentioned a popular escort mall, and my post was pulled.  I asked admin and was told that site now had reviews and is therefore a competitor of TER, and thus its name is not allowed.  Incidentally, I was unaware of that when I made the post, or I would not have mentioned the site name.

I know not to mention competing review sites, and the other major nono's here, the offending word in my case was "fuck"  Yes folks, depending on who is at the helm, sometimes just saying "fuck" on a fuckboard is not allowed. Go figure.
