I'm still fairly new to this scene so I'd like to get both hobbyist and provider opinions on the best way to get STD testing done.  I'd like the testing to be discreet (therefore can't be done by my normal doctor), comprehensive, and not too expensive if possible.  My first thought was to just walk into the closest Planned Parenthood, but I was wondering if there are better options.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi.  In and around most cities there are "Urgent Care" facilities.  I didn't want to go to my regular doctor either so this is where I went.  I have good insurance through work and all I had to do was cough up the $25 co-pay.  My insurance took care of hiv and all std testing.  Where I went it took 2-3 days for the results.  It's not a bad deal for peace of mind

if you're looking for low-cost, fairly discreet testing for everything, PP is a great option, as are LGBTQ outreach programs. Google " free HIV testing + your city" and you'll be able to find those resources.

Kudos to you for being responsible for your health and the health of those you play with!

I use stdcheck dot com.   I simply lie about any personal info that they ask for on the site and pay with a prepaid credit card.  You go into the testing facility with preprinted paperwork and then your results are emailed to you.    Trust me I'm in the IT industry if you care about if people know you are getting tested you don't want those tests attached to your insurance or social security number in any way.  If you can afford to play in this hobby, you can afford a couple hundred bucks for testing

Another newbie here and just passed throught this thread. A thought just popped in my mind and was wondering if  providers ask for std testing beforehand.
