Not to be too picky, but why bother to put an "eom" inside the body of your post?

I did a search and couldn't find a thread on this subject, so, 'here goes...

I thought I would bring up the topic of those softcore late-night series on HBO, Showtime, and their subsidiaries.  I admit I usually do some channel-surfing at zero-dark-thirty when I get up to catch my train and catch some of them.  The east coast channels are just finishing up and the west coast channels, three hours earlier, are in full swing.

The series I keep seeing include:

1. Co-ed Confidential:  If these "kids" are in college, I'm not old enough to drink yet!

2. Girl's Guide to Depravity:  Kinda' like an R-rated Ally McBeal. I'm totally in lust with that adorable brunette "pixie".

3. Skin to the Max:  They go around to various swinger and sex clubs in Canada and overseas and film attractive couples doing whatever goes on in the clubs being featured.

4. There's a radio call-in show with Lauren Hays as the sexy on-air host -- sort of an erotic Dr. Drew.  I had several sessions with her about 10 years ago in the DC area -- absolutely exquisite!

5. There's an R-rated Fantasy Island series.

6. Cathouse:  Documentary series about the Moonlight Bunny Ranch.  About the only thing that show does for me is to reinforce the idea that I never want to go there.

There are ample supply of hardcore actresses and actors doing R-rated stuff and actually engaging in dialogue and a plot.  Kaylani Lei is in a few of these shows and she is more adorable in these productions than in her hardcore videos.

It seems like it's a requirement for the girls to have either a landing strip or a small triangle.  I guess that's because they want to draw attention away from glimpses of the promised land.  Every so often, you can get a glimpse of some sort of gauze or pad that prevents actual genital-to-genital contact.  I wonder if this is because the actors require it or the company lawyers require it?

Is anyone else ready to admit you watch this stuff?  Looking forward to the responses and dialogue!

I'd forgotten about Real Sex -- Annie Sprinkle!

It is so damn true.  Between HBO and Skin-emax.  They give porn a bad name.  Boring soft-core shite.

Now, certain shows that have soft core scenes as part of the storyline are, to me, fairly acceptable.  But they do shoehorn in sex scenes where they aren't necessary as well, just to have them.  The soft core for soft core's sake is crap though.

Agreed. In the case of lots of these shows the erotic scenes actually add to the storyline. "Soft core for soft core's sake" is definitely more questionable, I assume they only include these scenes to get more viewers

I can watch real porn on my computer and save my money for the ladies and then act out all of the horrible fake crap I saw in the porn flicks. It's a win/win/win.
