You can ad the link

You can link to your website only when you are responding on a thread but never in the first post when you start the thread. It would be fine to ad your link in a response now.

Hello lovely TER people! I've been in the business off and on for over a year now, all in the DC area. When I started out, I was skeptical about the whole "review" thing (it seemed like it would give LE a lot of info on you) and I asked people not to review. Since then, I've realized how helpful reviews can be, and I've taken the no-reviews request off my web site. It hasn't been there for months now.

However, I still don't have any reviews. I know I've seen people who are active on TER, and a few of them have even said they'd review me, but nothing comes up in a search for my email address. Does anyone know why this might be? I've considered offering some sort of incentive for reviews, but I don't want it to look like I'm asking anyone to be dishonest to make me look better--I just want a few honest reviews. Any advice?

Edit: I didn't want to make this look like an ad--I'm just asking for help--but I've added a link to my web site after a PM request for it. If this isn't allowed, please let me know and I'll take it off.

Admin:  moved from dc board; link removed

Welcome Busty,

Please browse down this page. There have been numerous requests about new providers with excellent answers. Basically your info will not show up here until your first review. Assuming the reviewer has several under his belt, the review should show up in a timely manner. Once it shows up, you can claim that review and TER ID, by contacting TER admin.

All this is explained in depth in several different questions below.

And I see the TER ADMIN did see fit to remove your link to your web site

You can link to your website only when you are responding on a thread but never in the first post when you start the thread. It would be fine to ad your link in a response now.

Ah, gotcha! Thanks for letting me know. I've added it in this response.

Nice clean easy to navigate website that gives a lot of information, good job.

Your site needs the TER seal or banner in order to link to it. The link I included here will explain. Scroll down to the section about linking to web sites. Of course reading all the information in the link will be helpful. The previous poster is correct you can link your site to any replies you make in discussion threads even your own but you can't start a thread and post your link.

It is OK to offer a discount to TER members. Obviously they would be more likely to write reviews. You don't want to offer a discount for a review for the reason you stated.

Have you advertised on your TER regional ad board? Have you posted photos on the Photo Only board? Do you participate in discussions on your TER regional discussion board? All of these activities will bring you to the attention of potential clients in your area.

Read the Self-Help Center for the guidelines on how to do these things. Easiest way to find the Self-Help Center is click on the site map link at the bottom of any page. Look for the Info & Policy heading. The Self-Help Center link is there.
