Can anyone comment on best method to get verified? Having a call placed to my employer makes me too nervous. Any other methods or suggestions?

you imagine. They use an innocuous excuse like reminding you of an upcoming doctor's appt. They don't even have to talk to you, they just want to make sure you do, in fact, work where you say you do.
If this is unacceptable, try joining Preferred411. Gina and her staff will work with you get you verified on the site. They also let their providers indicate if they are newbie friendly, look for those. Regardless of the way you go, some personal information will be needed, and it's better to give it to one site like P411 than to several providers.

to reiterate what swimtrekr said.. When P411 verified me they made it relevant to my job. If they were causing problems with peoples jobs it would be really bad for them... word would get around very quickly around boards like these not to use them.
I got verified thru P411 and RS2K and haven't ran into a provider or agency yet that didnt take one or both of them.
