especially the part encouraging newbies to go back and read as much as they can.  So glad you got started off right!

Let me start by saying thanks to everyone who has posted advice on this board and helped build the self help guide. Once I had finished a lot of reading and learning, I was able to get up the confidence to get started. Valuable words from these forums rang true the whole way through my experience. Even though this is my first forum post, I have been watching the questions and exchanges for a while, and I know I'm not the only one who silently benefits from the mountain of advice you all share.

While it may not be the most productive of all posts, I felt a thank you was definitely in order. Newbies, definitely read as many pages back as you can, respect that the folks here are very generous with their advice / experiences, and are, for the most part on this board, more...I'll use the word "refined"...than those in other communities. I can vouch for the value of all of it, without having had to ask a single question beyond what was already provided here.

To all of you,
Thanks.

...a newbie can possibly have has already been answered on this board.  In addition to reading back several pages, the best thing to do is use the Search function.  Enter a subject, "tipping" for example, and change the day range from 30 to 300 or 3000.  You'll find more than you want to know about most subjects.

If every newbie does homework and search, Swim would be out of job, right? :)
