Gentlemen, Why would someone do this?
I hear from alot of the gentlemen on the board about inconsiderate behavior on the part of providers. I generally keep my mouth shut. But, I would like to tell a story. I had a gentlemen who booked an appt in September. He wrote me no less than 12 confirming e-mails during the week prior to the appt, telling me how excited he was, and asking for wardrobe requests. He cancelled 1 hour before the appt claiming an emergency.
Then he wrote back in October, asking to rebook the appt, this time outcall in the S. Suburbs and gave a specific time and date request. I wrote back that I was available on that date and time and requesting he send me the details and that I would put it in my book after he responded with the specifics. I never heard back from him.
He wrote again yesterday. When I reminded him of the prior incidents, I received a very nice apology and his assurance that he would keep this appt. So we booked this today at 9:00 a.m. I cancelled my appt with my dentist to meet him as he sounded very sincere and asked that I disregard past behavior and see him. Well, he didn't show and didn't call. Not even a lame excuse!
I understand that broken appts are part of the biz.. but why would someone go through all this trouble to be inconsiderate. You may ask how it affects you.,. the courteous and sincere. Its simple.. I turned down subsequent requests for appts this morning as I thought this time was booked.
I honor my appts.. In fact, I recently had to cancel an appt last minute due to a dental emergency and as a way of making it up to the client, gave him an extra half hour when he rebooked.
I am so glad that these individuals are the exception and not the rule.. but am shaking my head baffled at this rude and inexcusable behavior.

only two possible excuses, neither really acceptable. One, he just could not pull the trigger financially. Two, a sicko who gets his rocks off leading up to the deal, but never consumates. Either way it is a B-S part of your business.
You are right to be upset. Sounds like he's got some issues. You probably are better off in the end not having seen him. If I lived there rather than in DC, I would simply volunteer to be your stand by guy (read: expletive that starts with F) who would do his best to make himself available when others cancelled at the last minute. I no doubt would encourage cancellations (smile).

I can certainly understand your frustration. If in fact this was done on purpose, the guy's a jerk. An optomist would give him the benefit of the doubt and think something serious came up at the last minute and prevented him from calling, i.e. a car accident, a heart attack, problem with a loved one, etc. The could be assumed if he calls at a later date and apologizes up one side and down the other. If he doesn't call, it was on purpose and you are better off not seeing him anyway.

What can I say...some guys are jerks and unfortunately that reflects on the rest of us. Hopefully this kind of behavior is rare.
and then he wanted to book me in another city after cancelling last minute twice! I do not know girl but I told him that he would have to now put up a 50% deposit because he cancelled at the last minute twice two months in a row. Could it be the same guy or just coincidence.
We are supposed to be respectful on both ends----this proved that he was not totally rspectful. Can it be another provider or a guy that just wants to play fantasy??? he was even telling me all the stuff he had bought for me to wear for him.
Guys like this make deposits a necessity---I do not like to do that but in these cases you have to now days it seems.

Why? Usually because they are chicken shit. They haven't fucked anyone but their wife in many years and have both emotional and sexual hangups. They want to meet you but cannot make that last hurdle, showing up. Or maybe he is already a hobby hound and gets kicks from jerking girls around? Yes, they may be a future whale but there are very few folks I will cancel a meeting for, especially the dentist. Did he have good references?
But unfortunately you loose some of your precious time. Too bad everyone can't be respectful of others.

I would of NEVER rebooked with him even if he offered to send me a deposite first! Once a flake always a flake!
This seems to happen everyday,and i'm getting pretty tired of it. Why guys want to play these games is beyond me, maybe because they feel there are no repercussions for their behavior.Perhaps there needs to be a way of compiling a list of all these guys who plays these games , so we are all not wasting our time getting ready and waiting for a guy who has no intention of showing up.
