...You don't have to have reviews to post an ad. The ads on TER are free. You can place a link in your ad to your web site if your site has the TER seal. The seal needs to be on the first or second page of your site. The information for that is also in the Self-Help Center.

Your first reviewer will create your profile when he writes the review. After it's posted you can make corrections to your profile if necessary.

Posting ads, posting photos on the Photo only board, participating in discussions on your regional discussion board will let potential clients know you are a provider.

Once you have a review contact admin to connect it to your board handle and get the free limited provider VIP membership.

Good that you have been reading the Self-Help Center. Keep asking questions here.

Once you get another review or your reviewer writes one for someone else his review of you will be posted.

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to chat with the help center about getting started, and they sent me here. I have been reviewed by a client, but he was apparently not enough of an active hobbyist for the review to be posted. The help center gave me a run down of how to post and ad on the boards, but I do not even have a provider profile. As far as I can tell, I need to have reviews in order to be listed as a provider and post ads, but how do I get reviews from established hobbyists when I can't post ads on the board? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For future reference, you can post a link to your website like you did but it can only be posted when you reply on a thread but not in the first post when you start the thread. A link in a first post of a thread is considered to be an ad and the thread will usually be removed.
