At what point is a newbie an experienced hobbyist? Is there a reasonable number or when the confidence level is such that worrying about nervousness is a thing of the past? I've read a number of VIP reviews and most, if not all, experienced hobbyists expect, and do, get right down to business with providers without hesitation. It seems to be more confidence  in themselves than anything else. The perspective of providers would be helpful here too. Thanks

...a lady for the first time. I think it's good to have a little nervousness in that case.

Regarding the question of when are you not a newbie any more one sign would be when you can answer some of the questions that come up on this board because you have been through it. When your answer matches the answer of others here who give out advice regularly. When you've noticed the same questions coming up over and over and you remember when that was your question. When you have had enough experiences in which you put into practice the answers someone gave you such that you don't think about them anymore.

Remember though we all can learn something new at any time.

If you're uncertain about initiating or getting things going when you get to the session remember she is ready, willing, and able. If you're clean, have the donation, and have followed her requests in regard to the setting up of the appointment you're good to go. Be polite, be respectful, but go for it. That's what you're there for and that's what she is expecting. It's even ok to tell her you're always a little nervous at first and let her get things started. If she asks what would you like to do tell her something you've done before that you liked and say let's start with that.

And when you get to the point where you are just a bit more relaxed, have gone through the drill enough times to walk through hotel lobbies like you belong, because you know that you DO BELONG, then you are over that hump.
Of course, some might say you are still a newbie until you've encountered some kind of problem that you had to deal with (like bait and switch, or worse).  By that standard, I'm still a newbie myself, as I've been very fortunate in my 2+ years in this little world - and much credit goes to TER for this.

when you learn to research and be confident in your choices your nervousness should fade.
If you're lucky the thrill of meeting a new and sexy woman who is happy to help you make your dreams come true never fades.
