I tried to start a thread about an hour ago with a link to my website.  It never showed up - is this not allowed?  I was hoping to get some feedback.

...It is considered a form of advertising.  If you subsequently reply to other other posts in the same thread you can include your link in the subsequent posts.

...however place a link in any of the replies you make to other posters replying to your thread starter. The only time a link to your information is allowed when you are the initial poster is in your ad on the ad board. If you want feedback about your site you'll have to ask a question such that others will respond so you can place your link in your response to them.

If you go to the My TER page (tab at top), look on the left in the Quick links list, and click My Message Boards you will see an explanation from TER under the subject line of that post in regard to it's rejection.

Doing that is considered an ad. You can ad your link when you respond to a thread even if you started it.
