Why ask us???

Assume long term hobbyist have done some due diligence on this issue.

Kinda important, no?

From what I have read hv1 can be transmitted even if not visible.
Hv2 can be transmitted at any time.

Although, I have had many hook-ups with non-pros and never seemed to have worried....kinda contradicting my own concerns.

Guys, help newbie to hobby.

What are risks?  Sure don't want to leave a great encounter with extras.

Why ask us? This is an anonymous internet message board, not a panel of experts.

From what I've read/heard, your risk is fairly low. Still, there are never any guarantees.

What activities you participate in, should depend upon your OWN risk tolerance and not upon statistics. If you absolutely cannot risk contracting these diseases...then abstain from hobbying.

Or you can ask them for the providers medical checkup, lab reports and what not.

There are no guarantees in life or in the hobby life.

are never a guarantee, especially in this lifestyle, where most of us have multiple partners (some per day..some even per hour). Aside from that, there are dormant periods for most STD's...

A guy can ask for a girl's report. Personally, I'd be fine with that so long as the guy doesn't want BBFS...BUT, most reports contain the provider's full name, and address. Some even have the SSN. So I doubt that many providers will want to share that with a client

Hobbyists often ASSume that providers will be tested/safe/clean if they are 'reputable' or 'well-reviewed'. Likewise, providers often ASSume that hobbyists are tested/safe/clean if they are 'upscale gentlemen' (and sometimes, even if they aren't).

People of all levels of intelligence do stupid things and make bad choices...especially when the little head takes over (in the case of hobbyists) and especially when money talks (in the case of providers). BBFS is talked about a lot on these boards and others.

There is no way to know for sure that your partner is clean in this realm, short of both of you being abstinent over a period of time and testing clean

Collecting stamps and/or coins could be an alternative hobby for you to relieve your paranoia..
