NOTE: if this topic has come up before i can at least assure you that nothing has been done about it!
if you search the TER database with the "Porn Actress" field set to Yes (and both exclusions set to No) you'll get back 495 profiles* ... a sizeable majority of whom are no-name nobodies from podunk escort malls. i'm talking about girls that are FBSMs or other "half-ass" service providers
isn't one definition of "Porn Actress" a provider that can at least point to one video title? what gives? i'm sure i'm not the only one that cares about the integrity of the TER database.

well i am glad some one else brought that up because i did that search also a few weeks ago i was amazed i bet there is only 25% porn stars in that search

The problem is that when you review a girl, you control the answers that are placed in the fields, and obviously a lot of guys are chosing the incorrect answer, whether by accident or choice.
I think many of them are responding yes if they felt that they got a "pornstar LIKE experience"... in other words, she acted like they think a pornstar would. Wild and nasty, I guess.
It would be nice if TER could do something about it, but it isn't likely... for one thing, the guy assigned to do so might not know who is and more importantly, who isn't a pornstar.
There's a lot of ladies out there who have done gonzo videos, names even a lot of us wouldn't recognize, so how can we expect TER to know them? Plus, everyone defines a pornstar differently, even established hobbyists. I'm not into gonzo, so I usually have no interest in a woman who had done only that genre, regardless of the number of videos she's been in... I look more for the ladies that have appeared in features, but there's a lot of guys who are very into gonzo and would certainly define many of the ladies from them as pornstars... and what about ladies who haven't done videos, but have an extensive portfolio of hard-core magazine appearances? Veronika Zemanova has never done porn, or even hard-core magazine layouts, but I'd still place her in the "pornstar" category, for want of a better classification... if she escorted, I'd certainly check the "yes" on the questionaire under "porn actress", and the pornstar board is the place we'd all be talking about her.
So even though it's a pain in the ass, it's not that big a problem... We hobbyists will recognize most of the true pornstars in the database, and we can ignore those who aren't...
No. The nearest Veronika has got to hardcore is a video where she is "explored" by a gloved hand on a site called handpuppet.com. If she ever decides to do genuine hardcore or, better still, starts escorting, a national day of celebration should be declared.

i actually thought about taking this up as something "fun" to do on some lazy/slow workday (or weekend). like Spec mentioned, with the help of online databases of video titles it wouldn't be hard to verify someone as a legit "Porn Actress" ... but i wanna make sure TER will accept them before i commit to doing it
Eddie makes good points about the "fuzzyness" of the criteria. for example, i for one WOULD count gonzo vids as long as they went to DVD/VHS and were not just cheap internet-feeds. anything that can be purchased off a shelf (to me) seems like fair game
and let's not forget, today's "punish-f*cked" starlets on $30/month paysites are tomorrow's "contract girls" with their own features and boxcover credits ... boy! i could tell you stories, but we shan't name any names. that's all for another board and another time! LOL
