Things that seem perfectly logical to me turn out to not be in in P4P, so I make some dumb mistakes. I emailed a provider and asked if she'd be okay with pre-screening so I could see if she was available on reasonable short notice. I asked her to let me know what info she needed if pre-screening was okay with her. I haven't heard back, but it's only been a little over a daySomeone suggested a provider in a city I travel to fairly often. I don't usually know until the day before or sometimes even same day if I'm going there.
Would it be bad form to ask if she would pre-screen me so that I could ask her on somewhat short notice if she's available, and get in to see her if she is?
I don't see any problem with that. Many guys have unpredictable schedules and need to schedule last minute sessions, so it's nice to be able to be prescreened. Most providers don't mind. On the other hand, there are some providers who won't prescreen, and only want you to contact them when you are ready to set an appointment. and I've seen a few posts here by those providers saying that guys who ask for prescreening almost never book and are time wasters. If a lady doesn't want to prescreen you, she will let you know, but no harm in asking, and not bad form to ask.
Personally, I have used that method many times and then made same day appointments when schedules meshed.

in my mind, I was thinking a week or so. It ended up to be considerably less... I think we met on the second day after contact. (thanx Joi)
I would make the request with a brief explanation of why and how often you make these trips so it makes sense for her.
Than flooding your local board with last minute ISO posts... GOSH!!!
I guess she doesn't want to do open-ended screenings, or something in what I said made her think twice.
