Hi SL! What do you mean by "take their involvement to a different level"? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's a bit puzzled by this sentence. I like to understand what you meant rather than take home the wrong message.

Kiki, to post an ad on a TER Board you are required to post a link at the end of the ad to one of the following: your TER reviewed website, an ad on an Escort Mall (which does not do reviews) or your TER profile. I have edited your post so that a link to you TER profile is at the end. Please use this link or one of the approved links in any future ads

She only added a link of her TER reviews. There is nothing illegal here that shows she is breaking the rules for you to give her a "friendly" reminder?????

Aren't you the one asking the pornstars to post whatever they want?

'nuff said!

Hi Michael,
Not to be difficult or anything - but it didn't seem like Kiki was posting an ad... do the new & (constantly changing) posting guidelines really mean that a girl simply can not post at all without having a link at the end of the post???

Just curious...

SL

I should have pointed Kiki to the post below about the new clarification of the guidelines about posting links for the ladies. The correct link appears below.

Kiki did not post an ad but DID post a link to her unreviewed website which is a no-no. As for the guidelines continually changing, that is partially true and partially not. Staff wrote up the guidelines and gave them to the moderators. Not sure if he realized how literal minded some of are, me especially. The guidelines are not perfect instruments and are left to interpretation by a poor mortal moderators :) Until recently I had assumed, and told several ladies, that non-ad posts could contain links to non-reviewed sites. A couple days ago I saw a post on the LA Board where GND had chastized a poster for doing this same thing. I questioned the interpretation of the guidelines and was corrected. ALL links to personal websites for providers must be TER reviewed. You can still post links to your TER profiles and ads on Escort Malls instead.

I will try to be flexible in those situations where someone wants people to look at their non-hobby site for wither opinions or new pictures.  Please make it clear in the post that this is what you intend. My mind reading abilities have dimmed greatly in the last few years :)

Anyone having questions about the guidelines or postings, just address them to me either on the board or by TERmail. I can also be reached at the following email address: [email protected]

why all the rules and changes just curious????

Only rule changes since I have been a Moderator were the Guidelines for Posting Ads. They started just about the time I started Moderating.

Not sure of all the reasons behind the changes. You should check the Suggestions and Policy board for any postings from Staff about the new guidelines. I have twice found that I have not implemented the guidelines as GND and Staff would like. I have posted both times about the changes in the way I would be interpreting the guidelines and moderating the board.

It's not your fault Michael,

I think the board always welcomed ladies to post freely and now the new guidelines have made it a very "unwelcome" place to be. I don't know if you guys have noticed how lots of ladies (including porn stars) that used to post regularly no longer do...

Double standards exist in life and otherwise - but I think it would be considered improper if I sent TER a letter saying my profile was to be removed unless they put up a banner and proper link to my site (considering I've asked them by email to change my contact number, delete incorrect information that I "supposedly do" in sessions but do not and still (5 emails later) have not seen a response to...

I think ultimately ladies will tire of the constant chastisment  from the board owners via the moderators and go back to normal advertising... especially as with the increase in new traffic to boards like this the "quality" of clientele decreases. (Not referring to gentlemen that have been around for awhile but rather those that most recently discovered the boards and take their involvement to a different level.

There used to be a time where there was lots of miscellaneous discussion on the boards where a lady could post just about anything. Hell, once upon a time I used to post about photo shoots in NYC, going out for drinks with my porn star friends at known hot spots, just about anything that striked my fancy... and would find that the men of the board would find delight in having a bit of non-aggressive conversation on the board that did no directly advertise. But now with the constantly changing guidelines - I dare not post at all! The fear that any post would be viewed as a "ad" or must be linked to a TER Profile (considering my gripes with that,) posting has become a pain in the ass.

I hope one day someone will figure out a way to make the board friendly to the ladies that visit, (porn stars and otherwise) to where we won't feel slighted if we do. Maybe then, the fun will return - and guys will stop complaining about the incessive ISO's, the lack of responsibilty to do searches, and the like...

That's ok - I'll explain. There are those on the boards of late that seem to think their mere involvement puts them abovethe normal scrunity that a provider or agency would ask of any gent that desires a bit of private time. There have been incidences of guys merely "name dropping" other hobbyists names ("I'm a friend of so&so's") or offering a screen name and thinking that's good enough to not have to be verified or give any pertinent information about themselves. There have also been numerous complaints about gents using their board involvement as a way to threaten providers into providing services they may not normally offer rates they normally would not offer. (We've all seen it happen... the 1 bad review out of 20, the news worthy stories, the public flaming.) A couple of years ago these things were never allowed to happen. The ladies of the boards reputations were held in high regard just as the gentlemen of the board. As time has progessed I've listened to guys on the phone (often while in the company of other female friends in the hobby,) tell them that they "never pay more than $X for women of color" or "don't you think that's too much money," or "I'm a member of this or that board - can I get a deal?" That's what I mean by "taking it another level." There is less honesty than there used to be... and the false feeling of power some gents experience by their anonymous membership to communities like this has begun to corrupt the integrity of the communtiy itself.

Sorry - it's a PMS day so I'm feeling rather poignent.

That's just wrong. Using other people's 'name' for your own profit. Also trying to get around sccreenings is stupid. It just makes a provider suspicious and nervous and even if you did manage to hook up then she'd likely be wierded out. There's always some rotten apples in the bunch that spoil it for everyone.
