Be careful about starting threads that have pictures linked as it appears to be an ad... will get moved & count as your ad of the week. But (even though your posts are reviewed before going live) replying to posts goes a long way to show yor personality.Newbies are discouraged from seeing un-reviewed providers (though clearly not all need the advise) & more experienced hobbiests certainly don't... a board presence can overcome some reluctance.
I'm new to the site and need a review to get started. Can't really post an ad yet. Help. San Francisco or Sacramento, suggestions? I'm mature but have a very tight body.

begin reading and posting on your local regional board. This will give guys an opportunity to get to know you. This in addition to the one ad per week you are allowed on your regional ad board.
Once experienced guys get comfortable with you and your "style", someone will schedule an encounter with you and you will have your first review, assuming you have a web presence; meaning an ad on an escort mall site or your own website.
Lots of good advice on website, photos, etc. on this newbie board.
