I recently scheduled an appointment with a lady who described herself as: very pretty, 5'4" 140ibs, 36C-28-36 Medium build with red hair and green eyes.
She showed up and had that gothic look with pale skin, stained teeth and purple/reddish hair. I told her I could not go thru with the session because she was not what I was expecting. I offered to give her 20% of her fee for her trouble and left immmediately. She told me it was unfortunate I was one of those types that judged based on looks. Did I do anything wrong here????

I think it was nice that you did give her some money for gas etc but many women think burgundy is red hair and it is more purple. As for tans, I get real dark for my photos and depending on customer requests...go back to my paler skin but if one complains, I go back to the tanning beds...I haven't had a complaint yet except some guys miss the brazilian wax I had and some of my european customers pay me extra not to shave any of my hair....between a rock and a hard place

When someone asks for specific answers to a situation, and someone else ASSUMES they know information that hasn't been provided and criticizes them without offering any answer to the specific question at hand, I will call them out on it. Especially, when they do this all the time as Mr. Knowitall does (check the Newbie Board). If this is 'out of line' to you, well then that's all the better.
What sound advice? All you offered were assumptions and criticism. He may not have seen any pictures or reviews of the lady, perhaps she had none. This is beside the point. Then again, perhaps she did have photos that were outdated. But his ?? were directed to how he handled the situation, not on whether or not he'd done his homework. You're a broken record with the advice that you gave.

From what CL said in his original post, it sounds like he took the woman's description at face value and hadn't seen any pics. Maybe he had, but he didn't say that. If he didn't, then it is caveat emptor, and if she didn't meet HIS description of pretty, then it was somehwat his fault for not making an "informed" purchase. However, CL did the honorable thing by compensating the woman for her effort, and he did the right thing by not seeing someone he didn't really want to see instead of going through with it and writing a lousy review of her appearance.

I don't know if 20% is the correct amount that would compensate her for her preparation and travel. I sense that it might be whisker low.
As for the false advertising, she probably considers herself to be very pretty, according to her standards. Given enough time with her, maybe you would even agree.
I don't think you did anything wrong. Sounds like you tried to tried to make the best of a bad situation.
My reaction to your post, however, is that you had the opportunity for a totally unpredictable date, and you passed it up (hence my title.)
