Its too easy to lose. Never been asked about it. Only time I take it off is when I am home asleep or swimming in the ocean. Had it slip off once in the ocean while swimming and (Thank God) was able to dive down and find it. Thankfully a hard bottom w no surf that day.
Providers generally don't care if you are married as long as they get paid.I'm a married newbie with only one provider experience under my belt. That time, I removed my ring during the session but after reading the boards it bit, it seems as if many providers actually feel safer if the guy keeps it on. My question: if you keep yours on while seeing a provider, how often does she ask about it? Obviously, she'll notice it and file away that info, but I would prefer to not get into a "oh, so you're married" conversation. Have you guys ever been asked about your ring without bringing it up first?
I never had a provider ask about my ring or mention it and I doubt any experienced one would do so, Why would they?

any lady asking you about it, unless she's new, inexperienced or has a guilt complex herself (in which case, this is the wrong business for her to be in!)

I like to give massages, and the ring is just a bother.
Gals can tell if you're married by the ring impression, or the tan line left by it.
In any case, many gals ask anyways if I am married or not, and I don't mind telling them.
I am such an absent-minded guy that I would be sure to lose it. Now, try explaining that one to the wifey! The ladies do not care if you have it on, but I would say that a married man does bring a certain sense of safety to the equation, as in "this fucker has a lot to lose if he does not behave or crosses me." BTW, I have never been with a lady who asked me anything about being married or my wife - the only times it has come up is because of me and my big mouth. Think about it, if you are lady in this business the last thing you want to do is kill the mood by getting the guy talking about his wife.
by any provider so far. They don't care. I think most hobbyists are married so providers expect it. Its a personal decision that us married gals & guys must make whether to remove it or not but in the end it really doesn't impact anything session wise.
The provider wont care, and if she asks, just say yes you're married. It is probably just small talk, not an inquisition.
And if you take it off and lose it, you are in trouble.

Since then, I never take it off and have never been asked about it by a provider. But I did once have a gal that I saw quite often say she liked my ring. For a long time I thought she just liked the style; but I finally figured out that she just mostly liked married guys.
Once you take it off, your chances of losing it increase tenfold.
I would venture to say at least thousand fold! Besides, how could you lose it unless you took it off?
My nephew once lost his ring. Took it off while working on his ATV. Found it 8 months later after the snow melted!

Otherwise, don't worry about the ring. No one else will, and any mention is just to make small talk, IME.
I take mine off and I'll leave it in the spot where the ash tray used to be. It has nothing to do with getting different treatment from a provider, its purely psychological. I just like to keep those two worlds separate.
it was understood that anyone who works with machines should remove jewelry for safety. I know someone who nearly lost his finger when his wedding ring got caught on a power tool. He was out of work for a couple of months with no paycheck.
I once got a SS watch band accross the relay on a diesel... it was very exciting. Only minor burns... never after that!

Around the time I got married, 44 years ago, I started working as a mechanic. I heard a story about how dangerous jewelry can be. Supposedly one guy working on a car got his wedding ring to touch the hot post on a starter motor and a frame ground at the same time. Nearly burned his finger off by the time he extricated himself. So I never wore my wedding ring. Still don't, except on formal fancy dress up occasions.
