NO heavy lifting or any hanky panky until after your follow up visit. I'm not sure if he had it done by laparoscopy or not. I know he had some mesh to hold the hernia in. The first week he was pretty much drugged out on pain meds and he NEEDED it! I think he took his first shower 3 days after and it was done carefully. He got impatient and drove to soon and almost screwed to procedure up by doing so. 2nd week was better, 3rd week he turned a corner but still had to take it REAL easy.

Wait until after your follow up, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor in the long run.

Hope this helps.

Gents,

Not quite 60 here, but pushing 50 and figured this would be a good board for the question.

I have to call to schedule a laroscopy for a hernia early next week, first time, and I am wondering if any of you have had this done then how long did you have to stay inactive sexually?  Guess I am looking more for the practical "this si how it was" as opposed to the "this is what the book says".

Thanks so much in advance for any feedback.

I just turned 60 and had a hernia repair that was done with an incision. For me, I was back to activity after 2 weeks, but with my UTR ATF that I've been seeing for many years. We took it slow and easy. After a month, I was back to all of my normal activities. BUT, ask your doctor. It's going to depend on your general health and the nature of the repair.

Thank you SO mush GFE, exactly what I was looking for baby.  And to the others, great advice from all of you.

It is scheduled for next month, so I am making a point of seeing some of my ATFs between now and then to throw a little financial support at them and of course to enjoy their company before my "down time".

30+ years of ice hockey goaltending, I consider myself a bit of a tough guy in the "pain don't hurt", Dalton from "Roadhouse" kinda way but after having my pre-op visit with the surgeon today I am starting to accept this shit in going to actually sideline me for a while.  And if I don't behave, well as GFE said I will just be starting from scratch again.  Not to mention that it would be hard to explain to the wife that I tore myself up while making love to a beautiful young escort, you know?

:-)

Thanks again to all.
