If you screen via references, showing ID may be a bit invasive.  However if I go the traditional screening route for a gent with no references who says that his name is "Bill Gates", don't you think it's worth making sure that the person I am meeting is indeed named "Bill Gates"?  I have actually been contacted by gents trying to skirt their own name and bad behavior reports by telling me that they were someone else.  I prefer to weed these out before a face to face occurs, yet, I have been known to ask for ID as a step in dotting my I's and crossing my t's.

I was just talking to a good friend today just about this subject. She was shocked how little information the guys wanted to give her and expected her to just make an appointment. We hobbyists always have to fear that we might get ripped off. Or we might not get what we expected. But these woman have alot more to fear then just that. Who in there right mind would walk down a dark alley in the middle of the night? You have to be crazy. The least we can do is make the women feel safe. Yes, I agree that our private lives don't need to be compromised. Then give good references. Join a verification site like P411 and let the professionals verify you. I've heard enough terrible stories over the years, and have a few of my own. But the fact is that everyone needs to feel safe. Quite honestly, I would not see a provider that doesn't verify. Just my opinion, but providers have a hell of alot more to loose if they let a psycho in their room
