One is to read the Newbie Manual that is linked on this and other boards if you have not done so already. It never hurts to brush up on the basics especially if you have been out of things for a while.
The other would be to go to the Providers Only Board and ask there about mentoring. You'll get more open feedback there than on an open board like this. You have more than enough reviews to be a member, so if you can not get on that board, write to TER Administration and ask to become a member.

I have been in and out of the industry for 10 years but never before without an agency. I have worked for really good agencies and really bad ones and know the difference. I recently had to start over due to some legal problems which prevented me from traveling for last few years. Now that my freedom is approaching and I could really use a good trip to help me get back on my feet I am wondering if I wouldn't be better off just trying to do this without an agency. The last one i worked for sucked at screening and advertising (planning travel too) which is pretty much their entire purpose besides scheduling. I could really use a good mentor...I am going to work in Philly (center city) end of october beginning of november...anyone with some advice???
