How many times do you think it's okay to ask a reference  from a provider you've only seen once? Or twice?

If you've seen a provider already, don't you feel safe that shes the real deal?

If you meet a new provider as a result of an earlier one vouching for you, then the new one should be the next link in your chain of personal approvals.  Some providers may ask for more than one reference in which case list who you can going as far back as your history requires.
But don't feel embarrassed about it!  All you're doing is asking one service provider to approve you as a customer to another: he pays, is on time, and so on.
Of course the flip side is that if you ARE a jerk then that'll probably be communicated too!

to ask if she will be a reference for you.  I have some references that I have only seen once.  You just have to ask her.

I'm also the only forum host on TER, but when I post on any other board, I'm just like everyone else.

What causes the date and time stamp for some posts to appear in red on the discussion boards?

...then it goes red for 48, then black but not bold. When there were moderators for each board it allowed them to see which posts were new etc. It helped them do their job. Now that admin moderates the boards I don't know if it serves a purpose but it could be the same for them.

It takes us two minutes and it's our contribution to our collective safety.  It's a service to our colleagues, not to clients, I don't think it's possible to over use.

I'm pretty easy to get in touch with and I know other providers do more outcalls/traveling/get more spam, I also see guys new to the hobby, so I don't mind giving multiple references.  If you were trying to pre-qualify with several girls at once...and had a habit of that, that might get old.  Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it.

I usually prefer more recent requests, preferably within the last 6 months. Although proper etiquette is to first ask a provider to vouch for you, I can't speak for all providers, including myself. I don't mind if the client doesn't ask me at first. The more reference-friendly providers that exist, the greater the advocacy for hobbyist and provider safety.

If I were to have any peeve, I would say it would have to be the same person using me as a reference repeatedly over a period of time.

I highly encourage hobbyists to sign up for P411 and/or Date-Check as much as possible.

Since I'm a new provider I haven't had anyone use me as a reference yet.  However, almost all of the ladies I've contacted have been great about replying in a very courteous and speedy manner.  None of them seemed irritated about giving a reference. And, when the opportunity arises, I will be happy to do the same.  Now, as far as someone using the same lady over and over again, I would imagine that would get old, and probably raise some red flags.
