What the heck is "ID screening"?

Do you mean the ladies who require you send them a pic or scan of your ID?

Or something else?

Just curious. 😀

Hello all,

Apologies if this has been addressed before (I conducted a couple of searches but was unable to find this particular suggestion in the past):

I'm brand new to the hobby (in fact, I'm still technically "hobby-curious") and have yet to sign up for any verification sites like P411 or Date-Check. Instead of arguing the pros and cons of doing so, I was wondering if it were possible for an additional search field to be added to TER provider profiles indicating whether the provider in question is open to conducting employee or ID verification for newbies such as myself. I understand some (perhaps most?) providers are reluctant to see hobbyists without a membership to a verification site and with no references, but I've stumbled upon a few providers - usually from the providers' sites, themselves - noting they're newbie friendly and/or open to employee/ID screening.

Bear in mind, I always research a provider's website thoroughly if she piques my interest, but it would be fantastic to be able to search directly for newbie friendly providers through TER. I know newbs such as myself would find this to be both extremely helpful and time-saving - at least until we've accrued a few recent references.

Thank you.

P411 let's girls list themselves as "Newbie Friendly" and it's very helpful.  But at TER girls are not allowed to change their profile info unless they "report a problem."  So TER would have to change the function for that single category and I don't see them doing that.  But it's theoretically possible and would be a benefit.  Until then you'll just have to ask individual girls via email or PM.
If this has been addressed before, I haven't seen it.

Even though there is a range of newbiness and one person's newbie is another person's non-newbie, I think the more important check mark would be "NO!" : NOT newbie friendly, so don't waste my time or your time until you are sure that you can provide 2 reliable references or multiple Whitelists or P411 OKs or Date-Check "We Met"s.

Hmmm ... I guess there's a range of "NO newbies," too. Not sure how this would work out

Generally, I've seen some providers request a scanned image of official ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) or work ID (a business card, work badge, etc.). I haven't seen too many requests for pictures, though I've heard that's not out of the ordinary either.

But all of the ladies who I've seen ask for that, also ask for other forms of verification in addition to that requirement.

Actually, I cannot recall seeing any ladies who accepted that alone. Not saying they're not out there, just that it must be pretty rare for at least my area (Chicago).
Although, I've come across one or two local ladies who will do a face to face verification with NOTHING required in advance.

So all levels of screening are out there, but I just don't know how TER could effectively categorize them for researchers.

Well, 2 times in the past, I had a provider asking me for a scanned photo ID.

Ok, I put a sticky note covering everything except for the picture and my name. Everything else, including my drivers license number was covered.

Both cases, the providers refused to accept it as a valid form of screening. Both of them wanted to see the WHOLE license, I told them NO. It's for my privacy that I cover up my address, license number and other info.

They still refused. I told them both... I would be happy to comply with your request if YOU send me a scanned photo ID with nothing covered up.

One replied back and said 'That's stupid, do you think I'm going to give you everything?' 'Yea, that was my point of my previous email stating the exact same reason you just said.'

End of story.
