Just too many possible reasons, but there is one mrfisher overlooked.  She got a call from a regular for a longer date than yours, ie, more money for her.  Give her a couple days and see if she contacts you and what she offers as a make-up gesture.

What I did was post on the reviewer's only board and my regional board when it happened to me.  I did not publicly name her, but gave out her name via the PM system.  That way, you avoid a possible shit storm from the provider.

I would let the references know about it.

What is good practice when a provider no call, no shows?  I get that life happens sometimes, but this is still really annoying.

Should I assume she got busted by LE?  Is it more likely she simply "forgot" or was busy?

Perhaps most importantly, should I be letting people who acted as references for me with her know (only really relevant if the likely reason she NCNS'ed me was LE, but still)?

Instead there are myriads of reasons a gal doesn't show.

In one case involving me, she got into a bad automobile accident on her way over to see me.  When we next met, she had the bruises to prove it.

Some gals line up more than one date at a time on account of the fact that they get no-showed by guys also.

Some gals work so hard they fall asleep, or at least that's what one gal told me when she no-showed.

Give her at least a day or two to get back to you and explain herself before doing anything rash.  See what she's willing to do to make it up to you.

It's part of the hobby, and we just have to cowboy-up sometimes.

Fair enough and good advice.  Just wanted to ask.

I get that life happens (even if it's really frustrating in the moment it does sometimes)

You're both absolutely right.  Thank you for the perspective.

Just for the sake of continuing to bitch before I go get a beer, what is particularly insulting in this instance is that her stated NS policy seems rather punitive relative to every other provider I've seen (charge percentage of session fee and blacklist), but she's the only one who didn't show up!  That's sort of hypocritical isn't it?

If anything genuinely bad happened to her, that's different.  If she was hit by a car or something like that, I'm not so conceited as to think that she should have contacted me immediately.  And I know I don't know yet, so I'm not rushing to judgement (to be clear I do hope she's ok, even if that would maybe make me a bit more annoyed).

On a more constructive note, can you give me a sense of the parameters for reasonable make-up gestures either here or via PM?

Any decent professional will want to make it up to you. There should be some discount or OTC time involved, imo.

I am not telling you to hold your breath here, lol, but I have been surprised for the better by some gals in the biz who "get it" and don't take their clientele for granted.

And sometimes you may feel like the girl goes out of her way to make the session better than you had hoped due to the "I owe you one" mentality that most people would feel if they ncns someone.

I wanted to meet the following day.  Well she paid for the hotel I was staying and it wasn't a cheap hotel lol.  She even gave me a ride back to the airport. So yeah, some providers do go out of their way to make it up to you.

With this provider. I would refrain from trying to book another appointment with her. One OTC encounter could never be worth the hassle of trying to reschedule with some one whom can not maintain an appointment.
