I'lll just add that you can find the plugins for Tineye here: https://www.tineye.com/plugin
As of this post, it works on all major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome. Of course you can also use the website directly if you are using a browser for which there isn't a plugin.

For Firefox here is how you get the Google Image search results:
1. Make sure the search field on the right side of the is set to search in Google. This search field is located in the top right corner of the window.
2. Right-click the image and select "Copy Image Location"
3. Then right-click the search field in the top right corner and select "Paste and Search".
4. This will take you to the Google search engine results page, but there should be a link above the first result that says something like "For matching images, try search by image". Click that and you should get your results.

Was asked about the following and thought it might be more useful if posted on the Newbie board:

So you are researching a provider and want to verify the pictures in the ad are real.  You could hire a private investigator, or meet for a drink before an appointment, or do the legwork online as noted below.

Easiest to run Chrome Browser: can right click on a picture, and from the popup menu select "search Google for this image".  Results will appear in a new browser window.

If you run Internet Explorer it's a pain in the butt: right click on a picture, and from the popup menu select "Properties" and then copy the web address for the image, go to the website images.google.com and paste the link and hit search, then when the results appear there's an option under the menu bar "For matching images, try search by image" and that will finally give you the same search results as the Chrome search above.

No idea how to do it with the Firebox browser, perhaps someone else can chime in?

Across all platforms you can copy the web address for an image and paste it into tineye.com to see where that exact image is found.

Finding a person's picture on multiple sites using different names could be a spoofed ad, or stolen identity, or all the others are fake and you're looking at the original image.  It's not foolproof, but a good start.  Best to vary your tools.

Someone well reviewed on TER by reviewers you trust is a huge enhancement.

Tineye has plugins for many browsers.  I don't know how they work or how well they work but something to look into to make using Tineye faster / easier.

"Use a Browser Plugin Available for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer & Opera."

(I think my Google Image results are better than Tineye, but I wanted to give Tineye some props.

An easier way to do in step 1 is to left click the picture (and hold it ) and drag & drop it in the search box on the upper right corner then continue on with step 2 - 4.
