but I haven't had anyone refuse to use the condoms I've brought from an open box

Even though I myself offer advice on this board, sometimes I come across info that is new to me or confusing.  I've read several references that seem to be "accepted wisdom" which say that if you bring your own condoms to a date they should always be in a sealed container.  I assume that means an unopened box.  I always bring my own preferred brands of condoms and the ladies always seem to appreciate my thoughtfulness and preparedness.  But I've never brought them in an unopened box! (I use a discreet little zipper pouch to hold supplies) Anyway, in 12 years of hobbying no lady has ever expressed any concern or negative attitude about it.  Yes, I can see that the way I do it, someone really paranoid about safety might worry that the condoms had been tampered with somehow.  But I've never met any lady who was worried about it.  So, do you guys and gals really think a sealed container is that important?

I always use my own to include FC2s. I've never had an issue. Plus the box is only sealed until the first one is taken out. Most providers use whatevers on sale I've found, and that may not be a type I like. Julia did tell me about a type I like so if she wants to supply the condoms ... it's OK with me.:)

most providers will not use what you bring unless it's in a sealed, unopened box.  Hard to blame them.  If they are still fertile, they not only don't want to take a chance on catching something, but don't want to get preggers either.

for guys who need a larger size. I've had 3 or 4 appointments where the lady pulls out the cover only to find out she's not carrying Magnums, or some other brand's large size.  It's a pain to have to buy a new box of 12 every time I see a provider to ensure they are coming from a sealed box.

If a lady does her research on me (read my reviews, check references, etc.) they can infer the right size I need.  I've had two ladies do this and knew without having to be asked.  One of my regulars always mentions to girls checking a reference on me to have magnums and she always asks when she checks a reference on a new client. She is always prepared and that's why she's a regular!

So, I've resorted to asking up front, do you carry large size covers, and if not, will you procure or can I bring my own?  I also, as a fail safe, go to all appointments now with a string of 4 magnums just in case. I've never had a lady turn down the use of my own though.

definitely not most.

Also, if someone was bizarre enough to tamper with individual condoms to make them appear unopened, couldn't they carefully do the same thing for a box - open then reseal?

The condom paranoia thing is a little strange to me, but I understand that each has to provide or hobby in the way that makes them feel safe...

I developed an allergy to latex last year, so now I can use only non-latex condoms. The chances of a fellow showing up with non-latex condoms is pretty small, so I expect to use my own.

I've never had a gal object...  in fact I started after one asked me to stop & buy (a favorote lady & offered to reimburse).  Of course I didn't accept reimbursement but it was inconvenient to get off the interstate in an unknown area & ended up with a poor selection.
A box of 3 is inexpensive.  I leave the extras with her...  not taking the now opened box home!  Having condoms can derail some scams...

I don't want to think about how condoms could be tampered with but box plus packaging is double protected.   I do accept HER RIGHT to refuse to use condoms she didn't supply...

The most comment I've gotten is "You know I have those."  To which I replied "I just like this brand."   That was just before she jumped me...
