Just like you can't get a job without experience, but you can't get experience unless you have a job! Arrhhhg!!! 
Finally, whenever I've heard of LE being involved in the trade it's usually a case of the "provider" turning out to be LE rather than the "john." In fact, didn't most cities stop LE from acting as "johns" because too many wound having actual sex? Boys will be boys, right? 
Just putting that out there for perspective.

Okay, it's the age old dilemma : You can't see a provider unless you have a reference, but you can't get a reference unless you see a provider.

Here is my dilemma -- the "agency" I last worked with doesn't give out references and my other past providers have disappeared or can't be reached. I'm not a regular hobbyist, having been gone from it for awhile.
So how does one get back in the game???
I understand the need for caution, but at the same time it's quite frustrating for those of us in similar situations like mine. I would gladly scan and email my driver's license if that's what it took (it that's not a show of trust I don't know what is!).
