I knew when I saw the smily icons things had turned for the better.  I didn't realize how good.  It sounds as good as it could get-- as you've said, "cured!"

Look forward to reading you now that the load has been taken off you.  I hope every cancer patient gets to be as fortunate with this treatment.

Some of you who've known me for a while may recall my son and I had a leukemia scare some months ago.  Everyone in this community was so incredibly supportive it brought me to tears.  What was even more touching was that the support didn't surprise me; I'd come to realize what a good and kind group of people make up this little sub-culture.  Nevertheless, my sincerest thanks.

In any event; the good news:  My son has been declared as being in remission.  Sloan-Kettering applied a recently developed mono-clonal antibody technique and the response was dramatic.  The doctors are guarded, but they're using terms like, "ninety per cent probablity of a five-year survival."  In oncological terms this is nearly equivilent to the word, "cured."

So again, thank you all for your concern, support and prayers.  Please forgive my elongated absence, but I expect to be a regular again and stop in from time to time.

Very happy to hear things are looking up, and I hope they continue to do so for a very long time.

Also good to hear you'll be hangin' around this looney bin more too.

Well said by all, and I second it.....
wishing your son, you, and the entire family nothing but the best.

Thank you

I am thrilled to read your news.  You have had my "concern, support" throughout this ordeal.  As a guy who's Jewish by ancestry and athiest by conviction I'm not much for prayer.

Despite the horrors we all go through, and those we can catch every day in the news, there is still much good in the world.  I'm glad you've found some.

Glad to hear that things are looking up for your son. This is great news. Wishing your son and your family the very best!
