Provider Only Boards...

There are a few provider only boards that aren't related to TER and are a little easier for her to become a member of.  As long as you wrote a review for her she should be able to become a member pretty easily.

I think one of the most important things to tell her is to actively seek advice whether it's here or another board but also make sure she researches who is giving her advice.  Most women are pretty good about giving sound advice but just make sure she's able to get an understanding of who they are and make sure that their provider "persona" is one that she wants to mirror.

If you can PM send me one and I'll give you the website to refer her to or email me [email protected]

Hi:

I'm not sure that this is the correct place for this...but it has to do with a Newbie Provider.

I was hoping that I could obtain some information to pass along to a new provider that I've been seeing. She doesn't know the first thing about screening, she didn't screen me at all when we first met. We've talked about the perils of the hobby, and other than a few tips that I could give her (board names, provider references and verification sites), I didn't know how to help her.

I've been out of the hobby for a decade, and am getting back in, for one reason or another. I'd like to see this woman stay safe and be able to provide for a long (long) time.

In a perfect world, she would be able to befriend a well known lady here on this board to pick up some tips and learn the ropes on protecting herself.

Or, if anyone had any other tips to pass along to her?? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Then tell her to start reading and join in the discussions and hopefully find a mentor here to give her some tips? Info on screening techniques isn't a topic for a public board but many will help behind the scenes.

He has three recent reviews. We have no way of knowing if she isn't one of those three ladies?
Your advice is a good start IF you know for a fact he didn't already submit a review. :)
In any case, the other parts of your advice are good. She should come here and ask, and some providers will usually be glad to help her via backchannel.

If so, you can "sponsor" her on one or both of those sites. Even if you are not a member, you could recommend that she look onto joining. She will need reviews, or a recommendation from existing members to get on those sites.

Tell her to join TER (if she is not already a member) and to read the Self Help Center and this newbie board. She can ask questions here. As DJ said, many ladies are happy to help new providers with screening issues via PM or email, but not necessarily on public boards

Excellent, Yes Ma'am, PM on the way!

I was hoping for a well reviewed lady to sniff out my post and be generous enough with her time to respond with some advice. Your efforts are appreciated!

And to all that responded, thanks bunches. I didn't want to 'out' her by saying whether I did, or didn't review her. I sure wouldn't see the point of pouring more gas on an potential situation with unfriend-lies that may be lurking. And yes, I can certainly see the benefit of having a review here and then having her set up a profile here.

Gotta love this board for help like this. I'm glad it took off and is as successful as it's been over the last decade.

Again, THANKS

Cat
