However in your case probably not as long as the provider was asked before hand and you aren't using her 3 times a week for months.  Moderation is the key to life ... Once you see another then you can use them for references; don't use the same provider over and over just because she is a fast responder.

So being pretty new, I have only seen a couple of providers. Recently I have been trying to set up another appointment with a separate provider, so I put out 3 requests over the past week or so. One provider I couldn't work out a time with and second said my reference told her we never met. The third never got back to me.

Is using the same provider for a reference 3 times in one week too much? I'm too new to burn any bridges! hahaha

Mine is six months, so if more than 6 months have gone by since the last time I saw you, I am unable to provide a reference. Another great way to avoid this would be sign up for a verification site such as P411, Date Check or RS2K (prominent in Chicago), we give the oks there which count as a reference but don't discount that we also check those but just an idea for you to get started..

Let your references know that you'll be giving out their info to three providers... helps avoid that "I don't know him" response.

I think you need to call the fire department, your bridge is burning.
Most are happy to give references but I can see why she may get a little annoyed if she has been contacted by three different ladies in a week.
I recommend you slow down a little and look into a screening service, P411, Date Check or RS2K. Revisit the ladies you have seen, if they are members of theses services they can be your first OKs.
It can also help build your credibility as a newbie if write a few reviews. Don't get discouraged it does get easier.

the courtesy she's extending for you...

I recently had a first-timer who saw me one time for one hour... and within a week, he had given my name to FIVE ladies. Not only was this overkill in terms of my goodwill, it also raised red flags about how many of these ladies he actually intended to see. Very few gents can afford to pursue 6 ladies (including me) in the span of 10 days... so it indicated to me that he was generating backup plans B, C and D.

I understand getting several options in case your #1 choice doesn't pan out, but I also know how much work and time most ladies put into screening. To have a gent ask to be screened, then not follow through is a major disappointment and source of frustration for us.

Of course, I rapidly answered all of the ladies who contacted me. But since my knowledge of this gent was so very limited, I felt very torn about vouching for his good intentions, given the circumstances.

We really do want to be helpful... but there is a natural limit to how far one should push.

As it turns out it was just a misunderstanding. Result of a recently changed email.

felt like salt in the wound that you were giving your business to someone else
