verification for freelance/self-employed folks?

Hi everyone - I'm new to the hobby and have my eye on a couple of providers I would like to see. Because I'm a newbie, they require employment verification -- however, I am a freelance writer and work from home. I use my cell as my work phone and don't have a dedicated work line to give to a provider for verification purposes. I emailed DateCheck to see if their was a way to get verified with their service and was told by their customer service they couldn't help me. I also emailed one provider directly hoping to explain the situation and didn't hear back (maybe she just didn't want to bother writing back and forth?).

Anyone been in this situation and been able to get verified with a provider or verification service? Would love to hear from providers about what other info they might accept to verify a client -- social media links, etc.?

Thanks for the help --

I am also self employed and gave up my land lines when I sold my last company. Gina was able to work with me and get me verified and I have had zero issues since.

but you must expect to give up some information.  I gave up my landline number...  not to call on but so she could do a reverse phone lookup on it.  I saw her for several years after that...   giving the information once is preferable to doing so multiple times.  Perhaps I got lucky.

Ive told them to call my work at a certain time and I'll pick up. Or show them my business card. I'm self employed as well and I provide those info before she even asks. Sometimes she doesnt even call
