If you are in Los Angeles maybe we could help each other. I am new to this as well and am looking for references. If you want to talk more let me know. It could be a mutually beneficial arrangement!

If not the proper place I apologize.  I am trying to find information on how to join TER as a providor to begin recieving reviews.... Any help would be very much appreciated.

When you first sign up on TER there is no differentiation between hobbyists or providers. You are just a member. Once you get a review, and link it to your username then everyone knows you are a provider. Once a hobbyist writes a review then everyone knows he is a hobbyist.

The best way to get reviews, is to let TER members know you. You can do that by posting ads on your regional ad board and joining discussions on your regional discussion board. You can also post photos on the photo board.

I recommend you read the self help center. You can find that at the top of the page by the life preserver. Read all of it, but pay particular attention to the info for providers and the provider ad posting guidelines. They have specific rules for posting ads. Pay attention to them so your ad gets posted.

As a new member all your posts will be moderated. It will take a little while before it posts. Once you have posted for a while and follow the posting guidelines you can ask admin to unmoderate you.

Your first reviewer sets your profike, and then you will get an ID number. Once you do get a review, contact admin and ask them to link your review profile to your username. When they do this a direct link to your reviews will appear by your name every time you post. You will also have Limited Provider VIP when your reviews are linked to yiur username. The provider VIP allows you to read the juicy details of your own reviews and allows you to use the PM system. If you want full VIP, you have to pay for it but it will allow you to read all reviews and give you access to additional search features. You should also take that opportunity to update your profile. You can't create it, but once your first reviewer creates it, you can correct it, if he has things wrong or a lot of "don't knows."

If you are brand new and you know you have no reviews then you just have to be patient and wait for your first one. If you have been around for a little while it is possible someone reviewed you here without you knowing. You can check that bu going to "reviews," and "search reviews" (top of page). Search under your name or any former names, phone number, email address etc. if you do find a profile, contact TER to link it to your username.

Besides the above, I recommend reading back on this board a lityle ways. You will notice the same questions get asked over and over. There is also a search feature where you can search past posts for topics you are interested in. Also come back anytime and ask questions here. Many people are happy to answer.

Welcome to TER. Good luck and have fun!

When you get your first review, admin will assign you an ID number.  Until that time, you are just a member.  As previously noted, your first review will establish your profile.  If, after that time, you need to change something on it, you must file a problem report to admin stating what change(s) you want.
