They want to know 2 things, you are not LE, and you are safe to see. xyz has the right idea, join one or more of the verification sites. It's better to give up some personal to these sites as opposed to giving it out to several providers. P411 also allows their providers to indicate if they are newbie friendly which means screening is lighter. The sites will generally work with you so that they can verify you are ok. Once you get accepted and see some providers, ask them if they will reference you.

Just don't do it, or go see a gal who doesn't ask for this reference crap. If us guys (all of us) banned together and refused to see gals who ask for references, guess what, she wouldn't have any clients, and not make a dime.
