In my case, I didn't know that I was whitelisted until another hobbyist saw my whitelist.

He said to me in PM, "Hey it's cool that you have a couple of ladies whitelisting you." I had no clue, then I checked out my whitelist... sure enough, it was there.

I am very appreciative that those 2 ladies whitelisted me even though I never asked them to do so.

I don't live by my whitelist. It's not the same as providing references to another provider. In my opinion, providers who backchannel with each other is far more powerful than any whitelist.

So I have a question, can I get white listed by a provider without yet writing a review?

According to a provider whom I saw told me that a review must be written and posted first before she can whitelist you.

I have had providers tell me they WON'T whitelist me until a review is posted, but yes, they CAN whitelist you without a review.

I gave a review to a provider on TER who has many reviews.  Do the providers have to pay any kind of extra fee to whitelist a client?  Thanks

...They may pay for the full VIP membership if they choose to and many do. But there is the free limited provider vip available to them once they have at least one review here on TER. This provider vip is what gives them access to the provider functions such as white listing a client. Even those that pay for the full VIP must have at least one review and go through the process of getting the provider vip in order to use the provider functions.

...white list you she needs the free limited provider VIP. This gives her access to the provider functions.

If she doesn't have the provider VIP here is what she needs to do to get it.

Once a provider has one review (she has 10 according to you) she, as a basic member, may contact TER admin and request her user name ( this is her TER handle. Ex: yours is Samson311) be linked to her review profile. This accomplishes 3 things. One, a link will be placed under her user name any time she posts on any TER message board. It will say “See my TER Reviews”. This way any one interested in knowing about her can find her info easily and quickly. Her provider name will be on her profile. Two, she will be given access to her reviews and will be able to see them in their entirety and all the info on her profile. Three, she will be able to access the PM system on TER and communicate with other TER VIP members. She will also be able to white list clients. This is a limited VIP membership however in that she will not be able to read the reviews of other providers or see their profile info. There are some other restrictions but I don’t know what they are. If she wants the full VIP access to everything she has to pay for it. I know many providers do.

How to request the Free Limited Provider VIP Membership?
1. Join TER the same way you did. This will make her a Basic member. She may have reviews but she may not be a TER member the two don't automatically go together.
2. Contact TER admin using the e-mail she signed up with. Their address is [email protected]. Tell them her provider name and her TER provider ID# (This is the ID number on TER assigned by them when her first reviewer created her profile along with his review.) Ask that they link her user name (handle) with her profile and request the free limited Provider VIP membership.

Of course she may know all of this and has already done it.

This information is in the Self-Help Center. That link is on the upper right of this board under the red and white life preserver. It's also at the bottom of the Quick Links list on the left of the My TER page. The My TER tab can be found at the top of any page. Once in the Self-Help Center click the link titled "some info for providers".

The information on how to white list someone is also in the Self-Help Center. The White List FAQ's are linked at the bottom of the information in the "some info for providers" link.
