Try calling another number you have that has caller ID and see if your calling phone's number is displayed on the incoming phone. If it isn't, you'll need to *82 to turn off the caller ID blocking. Providers want to know who they are talking to.

Hi,

What does the *82 mean/do before many of the provider phone numbers?

Thanks,
Rick

rick, it depends upon whether your cell phone company has your phone defaulted to hide or reveal its number.  *82 reverses whatever the default is.
