Rent a movie, save some $$$, dont get desperate.
This will happen...I know 5 times in a row is shitty but it will always happen. My best advice is to not think with your little head in that situation. I always do extensive research before I go to a city on business. If you first choice cancells, go to a backup, if they aren't available just call it a night. Rent a movie, read a book, go down to the bar...Don't let your little guy get the best of you and keep calling new girls until you get an appointment. 99% of the time if you get someone to come its going to be dissapointing. This happened to me a few weeks ago, would have been much better off saving the $$$ and getting extra time with my first choice who ended up seeing me the following night.
I travel a lot for work and occasionally like to hobby. I have excellent references and am financially comfortable.
Tonight is like the 5th time in 5 differant cities that I make an appointment, send references and personal screening data, confirm early in the day only to get a last minte cancellation from the lady or service!! Tonight was the death in the family. I have also heard; car accident on the way to to appt.,picking up family member from hospital, and too much schoolwork!!
I think I am just going to fly my ATF around. Is this a recurrent theme for other hobbyists also??

The responses were that you should either bring a big list of well researched ladies from the city that you plan to visit with you, or have a good book to read in case you get stood up. I choose the former. Spinner39 pointed out that you should check in with the backup ladies a few days before you visit tmake sure that they will be available on the day you would want to share time with them.
but then I got a call a few hours later and she was ready to go.
She showed up and disappointment quickly set in.
At the time, I realized I could have saved a lotta cash if I'd opted for the in-room movies.
Did you get a hold of these girls in advance ?
That is the key...advance notice..
Because yes... unfortunate for many.. we have a life 
Not saying we wouldn't love to sit around from 8am til 11pm doing nothing else but taking last minute appts and waiting for the phone to ring

is one thing, the excuse might actually be valid.
Not showing up and not calling is very bad.
I am still waiting to hear from the provider in
question who stood me up, with no attempt to reach
me or explain since.
If I don't hear from her by next week with some kind
of apology or explanation, I'll post a warning to
hobbyists on the relevant board.
Well the provider in question finally responded to my email four days later with an explanation (death the day before of a close friends family member), and then claimed she was late getting back because she without access to a computer.
(Although she did have my cell phone - I did not have her
number, only her email.)
Giving her the benefit of the doubt on the explanation, I will
not post her name. However I still feel that I was shabbily
treated. A one minute phone call cancellling anytime prior to the appointment would have been understood. No message at all, and getting an explanation only several days later is just not acceptable.
I had another provider cancel due to family issues, but she did it the right way, she emailed me an hour beforehand, so I was not left waiting and wondering if she was going to show.
also, I'm wondering what time/duration was planned. Just guessing but I'm thinking if a one-hour appt is pre arranged, then the provider receives another opportunity for a 3 hour appt, she'll cancel. A one hour outcall appt arranged for say 9 pm might be disruptive to her evening schedule unless she's got no other plans. At least they're calling you......
I'm also wondering if this occurs with independents or are agencies involved? A reputable agency wouldn't tolerate this of a provider and if an agency IS involved, it would be helpful for the other passion-seekers here to post so on the Site Review section. I'm sorry buddy.....
The experience you describe has not happened to me since I got a bit wiser and I a. research for the experienced, mature provider, b. arrange multi hour appt, and c. STOPPED USING THE YELLOW PAGES (still steaming here about a Birmingham 'occurrence').

Often we shop with our eyes. or even worse we shop with our little heads. I think back to the ladies who didnt show up or were less than professional. I somehow knew before. I read thier reviews and there usually were indicators, but because they were hot!!!! I went ahead anyway.
Not to say there are not hot and also professional ladies out there, but that is what TER is all about. Do the research and listen to what is written between the lines. An agency that has two girls who are flakes may be a trend in hiring. etc...
Could you see Sedona failing to make an appointment? Nettie, Veronica Monroe? No way! it would have to be something pretty big and you could bet you would have felt good about her not making it. Either because you were worried about her situation and you wanted her to take care of it or she would make it up to you.
I get your frustration. Ive been there and done that, but ultimately with ter or other "boards" i can make an informed choice and be responsible for my experience.

If I add it up, for the local ladies I see, a little more than 50 percent of the sessions have been postponed at least once. One was downright cancelled and never rescheduled due to her health, and wasn't rescheduled, but that worked out well for me that day.
When I travelled or met a touring provider, the rate was much better. More than 80 percent of the sessions were met as promised at the time promised.
Still not a very good flake-rate.
Figured I'd see if she was available the next night (last night) since I did want to see her and actually, it turned out to be the best I ever had!... It just proves that getting mad is just a waste of time and energy.

Had it happen to me, too. Said her daughter had an emergency. I think they should offer a make up session at a discount, especially if you've traveled some distance, as I did.
