We just moved to LA, but heard that UHaul has put out a report that Chicago is the new hot spot to move to and more people are moving there than anywhere else right now.  What gives?
Has anyone else seen this report?
Tried to find it on the net twice, but no luck; so, if anyone finds this report, please let us know the website address.
We are just curious as to why people would be moving to Chicago...unless there is some secret we don't know about.
With the high price of gas and oil, we thought that there would be a new oil boom in Houston, but, so far, we hear that isn't happening.

COULD YOU TAKE SOME PEOPLE FROM CALIFORNIA WITH YOU ? IT IS GETTING CROWDED HERE!

I haven't seen any reports that Chicago was the new hot spot, from UHaul, Ryder, or any other company related to moving.  The last I heard, Las Vegas was still the fasting growing metropolitian area in the U.S.

Couldn't find an apartment there for less than $1,000 innercity where it would be safe enough to live...and that is without parking.  Moved on from that idea.  Maybe we weren't looking at the right places, but we were looking northside and to the west where the middle class seems to live.  Didn't seem cheap to us...and Chicago has crappy winters.  Hello, California.
