there's a niche for everything.

First, I have a friend who is a provider and aspiring porn star.  She wants to start an adult website as a source of extra income.  Can anyone give advice on this, so that she can make the site as financially successful as possible?

Second, this friend is a busty BBW.  By “busty”, I mean she is about a 44F, and by “BBW” I mean she is over 200 lbs.  What percentage of men do you think specifically prefer this body type, where they will (a) selectively go to adult websites showing this body type, to the exclusion of others, (b) selectively purchase other porn showing this body type, to the exclusion of others, and (c) selectively visit providers having this body type, to the exclusion of others?  Give your best guess—under 1%, 1-5%, 5-10%, 10-20%, over 20%.

Third, assuming a lady has a face and shape that a man finds attractive, how important do you think color/ethnicity is?  What percentage of men do you think will consider color/ethnicity completely unimportant? What percentage of men do you think will consider color/ethnicity completely  extremely important?

These are opinions..not facts

1-ethnicity means nothing

2- paid sites are great but shouldnt be thought of as a "main income" . At first it will only gain her a little extra cash.. to do more paid advertising to for her escorting/or the pay site in general. With any business, it will take time to generate money. Most give up on pay sites within a year. That simply isn't enough time for the market to recognize it. Depends on marketing strategies.

3- Her breast size may attract.. however there are MANY women on the net that show this for free, as well, pics at any "free site of the day ."

4- If she has a certain talent such as gushing-squirting- standing on her head and spitting wooden nickles , or sucking gold fish thru her nose, that will work well !...

5- Video on demand seems the way to go these days .

Hmmm.. Only I would give 5 answers to 3 questions :) :)

lol Ciara you are awesome, thanks for answering this question, so let me ask you what do you think would be a good niche for a ebony busty bbw such as myself to consider when thinking of themes for my adult site?

I was going to make it more like a diary of my life put to video and pitures and there are sometimes some outrageous things that occur in my life so I've come up with a theme that is a outtake of The Anna Nicole Show, my site will be the Vicki Nicole Show

please any advice you or others have would be much appreciated, in fact i have created a questionnaire of sorts that i would love if some of you who are escorts with paysites could answer:

Name:
Email address:
Website:
Do you own a yahoo group?
If so what is the website address to it?

Questions
Marketing analysis & strategies:
· Just what is it that makes guys go to one busty BBW or adult site and not another?
· Which busty BBW or adult sites are most successful in your opinion?
· What distinguishes the most successful sites from the others?
· What kinds of things might guys like to see that current sites either don’t offer or don’t do very well?
· How many paying customers do the most successful sites have?
· What kinds of retention (renewal) rates do they have?
· To what extent do Yahoo (or MSN, or Google) groups help build business?

Demand analysis:
· What is the demand for BBW adult sites?

Cost Analysis:
· What does it cost to advertise a site properly and aggressively?

Legal issues:
· What can you have on adult sites sites, what can’t you have on sites, what legal restrictions and guidelines do you need to follow to run an adult website.

Marketing analysis & strategies:
· Just what is it that makes guys go to one busty BBW or adult site and not another?
Typically, search engine rankings and word of mouth will get them to your site the first time. Content will get them to return. The trick is to have a solid webmaster who knows how to manipulate search engine Boolean parameters.

· Which busty BBW or adult sites are most successful in your opinion? The only ones that have ever been even moderately successful, are the ones that cater to a specific niche market (BBW+Dominatrix, BBW+Foot Worship, Buy My BBW Used Panties, etc) But even here, a site needs at least 3 years to develop enough of a revenue stream through repeat clientele to even come close to profitability.

· What distinguishes the most successful sites from the others?
Specific niche marketing and a really good steady supply of fresh material. Video, fetish, etc.
· What kinds of things might guys like to see that current sites either don’t offer or don’t do very well?
As saturated as the market already is, there is a steady (70-80%) turnover as sites fail. The question becomes moot considering there is EVERYTHING available out there if you know where to look, including XXXXX porn, bestiality, even snuff films. They all have a niche market.
· How many paying customers do the most successful sites have?
Surprisingly, few sites have over 100 regular customers.(At a  typical 20/month for basic membership, thats $2000. You make your real money from sales of merchandise and video footage)

· What kinds of retention (renewal) rates do they have?
The best sites will have a small core group of regulars, but typial turnover is in the 60-70% range.

· To what extent do Yahoo (or MSN, or Google) groups help build business? Extensively, provided you have good PR, a good hook, and a capable webmaster who knows the ins and outs of search engine manipulation.

Demand analysis:
· What is the demand for BBW adult sites? The most recent stats I am familiar with appear to indicate 1-2% of the marketplace would have an initial interest in a BBW site. Fetish niche marketing brings it up to 3-4%. Viewed as a percentage of the whole, and you may think you are looking at huge numbers.
Paying customers are much rarer (less than 1/2% total), and repeat clientele you can count on fingers and toes.
The key issues are getting them to your site the first time, and giving them enough new material to keep coming back.

Cost Analysis:
· What does it cost to advertise a site properly and aggressively? Realistically, including production costs to refresh your material several times a year, $1500-$3000/month. Increase this by a factor of 2-5 times, depending on how you are structured with the search engines. Its a crap shoot when it comes to premium ad placement on the search engines, due to the varying advertising rates they charge.

Legal issues:
· What can you have on adult sites sites, what can’t you have on sites, what legal restrictions and guidelines do you need to follow to run an adult website.
This answer is entirely dependent on the physical location of your web servers. If inside the United States, you run the risk of our intrusive governmental laws shutting you down and making your life miserable. Offshore web servers, or Euroweb centers will lessen your risk of legal troubles. Webserver centers in the Caymans, the Bahama's, and Denmark are some of the more technologically reliable, as well as legally firewalled locales.

Good luck in your ventures.

ok give me your thoughts on the following please:

1. I would be the webmaster of my own site and i know nothing about search engine manipulation, but am willing to learn

2. My site would incorporate several niches (BBW tramplinng, BBW  facesitting, BBW foot worship) in fact i have already shot a trampling and facesitting video, so is there anyway to cut down that 3-year time span you mention that it takes to develop a real revenue, maybe some off the wall advertising schemes like taking out full page ads in the New York Times and LA Times and Hustler, Penthouse and Playboy, :-) or going on Howard Stern and doing something crazy like having him throw bologni at my fat naked ass? These are things I'm giving serious consideration to by the way.

3. How would i go about getting a webserver in the Cayman Islands, LOL, that seems most legal
:-)

thank you for respondign to the questionnaire, everythign you wrote was IMMENSELY helpful

"Google" the term "Offshore Web Servers". You will get a number of links to different companies serving this market. Zentek International is pricey, but stable, and their people know their shit.

Understanding the methodology of search engines is a bit more complex than you may think at first. I had over 25 years in the field of computer design, and I still get a headache when it comes to search engines. There are professionals who specialize in this, there are software programs you can purchase ($99-$2999) that will do alot of it for you. When I was a Webhost, I had an two different employees whos sole function was to monitor and update our websites to maximize positioning on all major (and some of the minor) search engines. Its not quite that chaotic now that the whole environment has settled down into a half dozen primaries.

Try this link - http://www.search-engine-software-reviews.com/home.html ... Web Position Gold was at one time the best on the market. But theres alot more competition now.

As far as cutting down the time involved to build a business... there is no sure fire cure for that. Exposure (no pun intended) is of course a good get-the-word-out method, Howard Stern will certainly get you alot of lookie-lou's, but in the end, the key is still content, content, content. A consistently fresh inventory of available material and merchandise will help you build your customer base. But if you have $100,000 to burn on advertising and making a splash in a major print media, that money is much better spent on producing more content, developing inventory, and paying for premium ad placement on major search engines. Just remember this: One of the most successful of the early porn sites was a no frills site simply known as the Karpo site. Lots of content. Online images were free, but membership got you 1 free video per month. Additional videos went for $12-$150 depending on the nature of the video. (X-XXXX use your imagination). It started as a lark hobby project by an LAPD civil servant, and was bringing in over $10,000 per month after the first year. Bandwidth costs cut into the profit margin, but by eventually going with their own offshore servers, even this was overcome.
Ideally, you want your website to be the first link at the top of the first page of search engine listings anytime someone enters "BBW" as a search parameter. If you go to Google, AOL, Yahoo, or AskJeeves, and type in "BBW", look at the top 5 results for each engine. You WILL get different results for each portal. What you want to study, is which sites come up on the first page of all major portals. They are the ones who have the search engine algorithms you will want to emulate.

Another method for gaining revenue, is by link-throughs... putting links on your site that if clicked, you get paid by the site it is linked to. Much the same way advertising revenues are achieved by search engines and other commercial sites. Study the methodologies used by sucessful click through companies like Doubleclick (http://www.doubleclick.com/us/) to learn more about that.

Good Luck :)

and that IS the easiest cheapest way to do it in many cases.  my google adwords account cost me about 15 dollars a month and makes sure im on the first page when someone searches for a sensual massage in nyc.

it's mostly a waste of time to figure out the art of how search engines work at this point.

Liya3820 reads

and i think i'm doing okay because i almost have more business than i can handle and i still have no reviews interesting enough.

i think it would be much easier and much more profitable (an extra 200+ profit vs 20+ profit) just to get a nice looking escort website up and going and promote that.

and, actually that's not really easy.   but easier then learning all kinds of scripts, dealing with legal issues, banking issues, credit card payment, server issues and taxes or how to launder that money quietly issues.

First the answer to your specific questions:

1) If the website is to be financially successful, she needs to make sure that there is compelling content on the site that is constantly changing.  Nothing will kill the income for a site more than just having new pictures each month.  There are only so many ways a even a beautiful woman can pose, and once you have seen some pictures more does not mean better.  Video helps, but is very bandwidth intensive of course.

2) Size does matter, and as Vicki (who responded below) and other women in the Boston area know, I much prefer larger women anyways.  There must be a good percentage of them in the Boston area because we have a large group of incredible BBW women (who I will not name because I do not want to forget anybody).  So there are certainly men who prefer a BBW instead of a waif.  Back to question #1, men like me prefer to see a man that looks like me having sex with a BBW woman.  While regular porn is certainly interesting, most of it is buff men having sex with skinny little women.

3) As to color/ethnicity, it is important to a select few, but to most people the color/ethnicity of the person is less important than size, beauty, and attitude of the person.

I have never and probably will never pay for an adult website with pictures of one woman for the following reasons:

1) There are just too many free pictures out there on the newsgroups, other free websites, and free pictures on pay websites.  I have a great newsreader that I give a groupname, and it gets all the pictures from that group.  Then I can quickly scan them all and see which ones I like.

2) The reason men are in this "hobby" is simply because of variety.  Paying any amount per month to see pictures of a single woman, while interesting grows tired quite quickly.

3) Digital images and video are nice, but are no match for the real thing.

Now a site like danni.com which has found a very large niche, and done quite well with it works, but with the plethora of pictures out there it negates the need to even subscribe to that site.

Vicki Nicole1922 reads

so for someone like me, on my pay site, if i submitted a new set of pictures each week, had deals with other women to have their content on my site and also if i submitted a 10 - 15 minute hardcore/soft core/masturbation video each week, along with the regulartion weekly webcam show etc.. would that be enough to keep a guy subscribed tot he site or would you suggest something else or something more?

Why don't you BC Anneke. She has a pay site that has been up for 6 months or so and she would be a good resource for information??

Try out a members only section connected to your regular site

Get a feel for it
Get a calling
Get some fans..

THey will eventually start writing in and telling you what THEY want to see.. Not what you think they want to see .

Above we have someone asking why people ask her stupid q's... now we have someone asking to do her market research...   Sheese....   hire a consultant.  look at web sites....

Vicki Nicole3844 reads

Gathering several opinions from consumers is a valid and well used form of market research

I happen to love busty BBW's, but remember that not all BBW's are built the same.  There are 2 extremely crucial factors that I look for that make a woman beautiful to me:

1) Her face.  This is where, in my opinion, about 75% of a woman's beauty comes from.

2) Her distribution of weight.  Read those 4 words again....because for me, a woman's weight is just a number.  Your friend is 200 lbs ?  Great, but that does not tell me if she is short & round, tall & amazon, top heavy, bottom heavy, or a combination within.  The ultimate gal for me is a one who possesses an exaggerated hourglass figure, so I prefer someone who is tall, thick up top & in her hips, has a thin waist, but overall not sloppy.  "Extremely curvy" would describe it best.

There is a stereotype that BBW lovers are not picky and like anyone who is fat ~ in fact, nothing is further from the truth, as I have described in detail above.  Remember this when designing a website or going after a particular niche.

As for what makes a woman's website successful, remember this:  content, content, content.  I would suggest at least 2 updates a week.  Remember, if you only update once a week, someone will look at that update and then will wind up paying for the next 6 days with nothing new.

Lastly, and I'm sorry to be so un-PC, but yes, race makes a difference.  It's just a guy's preference.  Hope this helps, and remember, this is just your average Joe's opinion.

Actually, I lied, this will be the last item.....if you want to see what makes a successful BBW website, I suggest you browse this site, BBW Site Review.  It has editor's picks & reviews, but most importantly, it has regular users' reviews of what makes one site better than the others (best place to start is the Solo section).

Good Luck.
