from this page. Also, if you don't have references, I'd suggest you sign up with Preferred 411 (aka, P411). If you allow them to verify where you work, then you will be able to book with newbie friendly ladies on the P411 site.
Many here will will answer questions, but if you read the self-help and even just a few pages of postings here, you'll find most of the answers to the initial questions that you or any newbie would have.

What is P411?
as someone with no references, you need to give up the information they ask for so that they can screen you. Evidently you weren't willing to do that?
Save yourself an amazing amount of effort and frustration and simply bite the bullet for the verification service.
...sign up with a site such as Preferred411. I also offer to send the gentleman an invitation, and let P411 know that I have indeed visited with him.
Many ladies accept P411 as a sole means of verification, and others do not. I try to save gentlemen trouble, by providing my screening policy in my P411 profile.

DO NOT search for companions on Backpage. Only use TER (since you were smart to get VIP access), P411, or Date Check. P411 advertisers are current, whereas Date Check doesn't seem to delete old or inactive accounts.
As you look for a companion, read every page of their website, and a good number of her reviews.

When you contact a companion by email, my suggestions is this format:
