PMC & GaG have sound advice. Also, note how long she's been around.

If her, say three, reviews are all over three or four months, she's probably just starting out. If the bottom one is a year and a half ago, I'd be careful.

Also, when providers advertise as "couple friendly" they usually mean it. If they have lots of reviews, but only one or two COUPLES reviews, that would seem pretty normal to me.

My wife and I are totally new to this but we are trying to be very cautious when selecting providers. We wanted some tips on strategy for figuring out how to spot a trustworthy provider. I generally check for how many reviews and then I look to see if at least some of the reviewers have posted a lot of other reviews or been white listed.

But what about when that isn't the case? What if a provider has only 2-3 reviews but at least one is from a member who has 10-20 reviews of his own and is endorsed by other providers?

How many good reviews do you need to see before you are comfortable?

And how do you go about checking whether the reviewer is reliable?

Thanks!

From well established reviewers who have written at least five. Run her photos through tineye.com, I guess you would need to find a "couple friendly" provider, so she needs to be truly bi. Don't be afraid to ask your local board about recommendations. Locals always know about great experiences. No need to "TOFTT" when you have various resources here to rely on. Browse the Ad Board.
Good luck in your search!!!

For me, even a single review by someone I know and respect is enough for me, but if you don't know anybody that's tough to do.

This is another one of those times where quality beats quantity, three reviews or thirty the key is the credibility of the reviewer/s. So far you seem to be on the right track, the number of reviews the reviewer is important, as is whether he has any white lists and if his scoring tends to be in the general range of the other guys who have seen the same women. If he has a lot of outlier reviews, that could be a negative, but by and large if you have even two or three reviews written by reviews with at least 10 reviews of their own, you should be in pretty good shape.
