Just wondering why I am able to have a profile here with my reviews for Reno but don't see any Reno Discussion boards or Advertising options for Reno?
Its frustrating
That is the closest board to Reno. Don't worry my board maybe the Atlanta board but many Atlanta providers go all over the state of GA. Just make you say that you in put Reno in your posts. That is what the Atlanta ladies do when they offer services in different cities in GA.

Yes, the commonly accepted way on TER seems to be that since Reno is in the same state as Vegas (the nearest major city in the same state), Reno folks should flock to Vegas even though it's significantly farther away.
The proper board is the "Other Cities" board. San Fransisco also works. Many more people go from San Fran to Reno, than from Vegas to Reno.

How major a metropolitan area is it? TER covers most major areas so I'm guessing it's because the hobby community there aren't as established as other cities. It's better to choose the nearest closest major city.
However, if a lot of Reno guys/girls ask for a board/adboard, TER will create one. That's how they created one for others cities / states like Maryland.
Consider this though, even for a big state like MD, the local board seems much less active and nowhere as active as NYC/ WDC / LA boards. But the MD board is no where near as bad as the New Mexico board. Big enough city yet it still has posts from October 2013 ( last year ). Their most recent post was from 1 week ago.

How effective would it be to be advertising on a board that doesn't that does not have all that many people participating or reading for that matter?

Reno doesn't have enough TER activity to warrant it's own board. "Other Cities" covers all areas that don't have their own boards.
You can also try posting on the SF board.
the Reno list and find what he wants.
When exploring a new area, I will first check out new reviews for the city I'm going to be visiting before checking out the ad board for that city. For Reno, I would use LV and other cities just to be sure I have my bases covered. I would not have thought about checking SF even though I have made the drive from SF to Reno on more than one occasion.
Unfortunately, not every city around the country has a board of its own. Some local boards for for an entire state. It probably depends on the escort traffic in the area. San Fran and Other Cities are probably the best for you as already mentioned. It doesn't matter where you are as far as your profile is concerned, your first reviewer set it up using the city he visited you in.
