Newbie - FAQ

My take is similar to Swim's. #1--Most guys who write reviews . . .

do their homework and only see well-reviewed ladies who offer what they are looking for.  Therefore, the result of the date will be a positive experience for the most part.

#2  The performance score is based on what the lady offers, not necessarily on what she does during that particular date.  If a lady offers BBBJ but I only want a CBJ, then she shouldn't be marked down because of my preference.  [Note: ladies if you read this, only an example, not a true statement].

#3  Much more room for a more accurate score rather than just a 5-point scale.

I'm a relative newbie so be gentle, but there seems to be some big discrepancies related to the reviews on this website I'd like more opinions on:

1. Why aren't there more negative reviews? (Looks are looks, obv, I'm mainly focusing on performance) Are you telling me most of the top-rated ladies never have a bad day? Or is there some fear from reviewers of backlash/blacklisting? Or something else?

2. Along those lines... Why don't Performance scores more accurately reflect the written review? I've read a bunch of category 9 and 10 performance reviews that do NOT mesh with the written details, so why the discrepancy guys? Even some of the slightly more accurate ones (like 5-7) sound like they deserve more of a 1 to 3 score instead.

3. Speaking of scores, why doesn't TER use a 1-5 system instead of a 1-10? The averages would carry more weight in that instance, right?

Thanks for the info. This is a pretty great community as far as I can tell from lurking, so appreciate any constructive feedback

1.  Of course everyone has a bad day, but some guys are just reluctant to post negative reviews.  They don't want to hurt the girl's business.  There have been numerous instances of backlash from providers who feel they deserve higher marks, and have threatened guys with some form of retribution.  I have also heard stories about providers who told the guy don't write a review unless you rate me at least x-x, or whatever.

2.  Remember, one guy's 6 might be another guy's 9 or 10, guys have different tastes.  I have also read reviews where the guy raved about the provider and her skills yet only gave her a 6 or 7.  I even asked one guy about it, don't remember his answer.  Most guys will say they go by the narrative rather than the numbers.

3.  As far as the rating scale, I think admin wanted more variation in scores, and if that's the case, I agree.

If you have not read the self help center, do so soon.  It's very informative.

The Phantom Gourmet is a burger-pizza-BBQ food review show on Boston TV.  They use a 100 point scale that is tantamount to a 3 point scale. After their careful analysis and review, every frickin' hot dog cart or fried clam roll house gets either a 77, 78 or 79.  (I haven't watched it in years, but I assume it's still the same: shilling for their advertisers.)

As far as TER reviews go, I am usually the limiting factor in my situations so I try to be honest but not penalize my hostess for my deficiencies

Thanks for the responses. I read through the Self Help section early on, but thought I'd brush up since Swim mentioned it. I guess that's where my confusion lies. The Review FAQ section says:

"please save the 8, 9, and 10 ranks for situations where out of the ordinary services are provided  (i.e. Blow Job - without condom, Kissing - with tongue, Anal - Yes, and Really Bi - Yes, More than One Guy - Yes)"  and "For each of these services that are offered, her potential max score is raised by one point, with 10 as an absolute maximum." --> So objective ratings based on services offered generally, not what is offered or completed in individual sessions?

But then the individual descriptions (and the 1 to 10 scale rating itself) make it sound like the Performance ratings should be subjective: "Of course, the 10 rating should be reserved for an experience that is really worth a million!"

Maybe I'm just over-thinking it, but I want to be as fair to the providers as possible. It's possible to have a terrible session even though I could check the Kissing with Tongue checkbox afterwards

Welcome to TER. Reviews have been debated forever, many veterans will tell you they don't really pay attention to the numerical scores, , but pay close attention to the juicy details and who wrote the reviews.  So if you're not a VIP member I suggest you get it asap.   Many will advice you backchannel with reviewers, as some hobbyists will be more honest in private. Eventually you'll get the hang of it.

and so the quality, accuracy, and logic will vary... greatly.

Some reviewers take time and expend effort writing a review to get it "right", yet his reviews will still vary from day to day. Some are written by guys who just aren't that intelligent, or aren't very good writers, and often the "logic" will be off. Some guys don't give a flying fuck whether their review makes sense or not, they are just writing it for the free days, or to butter up the provider (or to take a cheap shot at a girl he didn't like). Some reviews are fake.

Trying to apply some kind of across-the-board logic to a large database of reviews like this one is a waste of time. These reviews are simply ONE tool to help you make your decisions, and they will never be perfect.

Thanks for this reminder.

I suppose in my mind this is where the numerical scores would help balance out the written portions (like the old school SAT's hah), but that doesn't seem to be the purpose of the numerical scores, hence the confusion.

In my mind it makes more sense to have two 1-10 scales for performance (relative to average offerings, and for your individual session), but this is just nitpicking.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

the rating system would be more accurate with higher numbers such as 1 to 10 rating or a 1 to 100 rating. It's all based on a scale with the beginning and an end. What you choose to put in between doesn't really matter. For instance a score of 4.5 on a 1 to 5 scale is the same as a 9 on a 1 to 10 scale and a 90 on a 1 to 100 scale. The higher the scale the more accurate the rating as in a 1 to 100 scale, you can rate a 78 or a 62 but then it gets more complicated. I hope this makes sense.
