What incredibly bad defense by John Wall in that game. He let the back up WVA point guard drive in for layup and after layup and played poor help defense. Whenever Wall goes for a steal and makes it, the announces overhype him but basketball is about on the ball defense first and Wall played poorly today.

I don't think Duke could beat UK either. But you're incorrect about them beating WV. The only chance Duke has is if their 'behind the arch' attempts NEVER miss. They cannot play inside with WV.They also have to relegate WV's shot attempts to the arch. Wv cannot make a living from the three-point line.
What becomes important from the UK/WV game is 'will the two freshmen' come back or 'declare'. I think they should stay.
to win. But when Duke loses it is always for the same reason - one of the big three has a 4-15 game. They can still beat weak teams if this happens but not the elite teams.
So I say that if Singler, Scheyer and Smith all shoot 7-15 o better Dule loses.
On a side note I will be so glad to get rid of Zoubek and Lance Thomas - as long as they start for Duke, Duke will never be a great team. Zoubek still makes the same three fundamental errors he made as a freshman - he walks when he tries his post move, he brings the ball down to ground level when he gets a rebound, and he commits moving screens for fouls. Auugh.
I'd love for those guys to stay as well but they're gone I'm sure. With the present "system" in place, it's too bad we won't get to see how good they could be over the next couple of years.
Unfortunately, they played like freshman last night and it cost them the game. It would never happen, but if Kentucky and West Va played 10 more times with the current rosters, Ky would win 9 of them.

I still believe Wake Forest has more talent than West Virginia but Wake did not play hard and has poor coaching - at the same time Kentucky;s secondary players could not miss from 3 point range.
Last night, Kentucky did not hit a three pointer till nearly 4 minutes was left in the game and a lot of those shots were wide open. So to some extent W. Va. lucked out in catching Ky on the one night they couldn't shoot.
