Okay, business can be a little slower right now.
But has anyone been avoiding the Columbia area because of some recent activity that I haven't heard about?

I agree with Caylee, August is a slow time of year around these parts. It doesn't explain the cancellations, tho.
But of all the popular locations in the DM (Tyson's, Arlington, DC, Inner Harbor, BWI), I find Columbia the best, LE warnings notwithstanding. I find it is the most convenient with few traffic snarls. When I started in the hobby, everyone said "be careful in the BWI area". Now I guess the warning is "be careful in Columbia".
As long as ladies to proper screening and guys stick to well reviewed providers, everyone should be fine as long as nobody acts like a fool.
God bless those mongers that TOFTT. Smart, savvy guys now how to do that.

I can't speak for anyone else, but working in the city (Baltimore), and trying to squeeze in a session sometime during the working day, Columbia can just be too far. I can hit bwi or Arundel mills in 10-15 minutes each way, so a daytime appt can be done in about 1.5 hours - just a long lunch that easily fits into many work days.
Columbia adds another 10-30 minutes (based on time of day, rush hour, etc). It is just a little too far to go for me. I have done it but usually am rushed to get to my next meeting of the day
There is an abundance of bars, restaurants, mall, grocery stores, shopping in general, gyms and nightclubs where guys can meet women easily. Lots of stuff is one on one and mentioning "this will cost you". Of course with the civies the ladies have to be attracted to the guys.
All of those things that you mentioned also cost money.
Not everyone has the time, energy, desire, ability, I could go on, to do that chase.
Some try and end up with a drunk girl who can't or a whatever girl who doesn't want to put out.
What you described is hooking up and one night stands. And while it does happen, it's totally different than p4p.
But some guys have seen so many providers they are experimenting the one on one approach. It has its risks and can be full of drama. I talked to one fellow TER guy how stopped seeing providers. He told me he was tried of providers being worn out by the time he saw them. He also has special needs in that his sausage is packing both in girth and length.

I know August is typically slow but, I had a great month! I think everywhere can be unsafe but proper screening and care should do the trick (I never stay in the same place more than one night and stay in better & bigger hotels). I like both Baltimore and BWI. Stay safe and have fun! xoxoKaylie
